Every time i try to make people my computer takes forever to load and my task bar tells me sims 2 is not responding. It happens even after i am finished creating the people

I would check your task manager (right click on your task bar at the bottom and choose Task Manager to open it up) under the processes tab you will see what services are running and how much processor and memory they are using. There may be a process that is hogging a lot of the processor's cycles or RAM (memory) which could cause slowness. I'd try to kill a process if possible by highlighting it and choosing "end process" and see if that speeds things up....you may need to do some trial and error with this. If it does speed things up you will want to identify what the process is...it's possible it could be a piece of malware on your system, or something you installed or are running regularly.

1.How much memory you have .
2.You've already stated the brand and model#
3.You've stated the program for your security program (kaspersky)
4.processor type speed.


Your computer may seem a bit slow but you are actually slowing it down by trying to use it while scanning.

remove or uninstall the firefox from the system and reinstall it.... and if u have more than one antivirus software on the pc take any one of them out of your pc..... it will work

Go to Task Manager, Crtl Alt Del keys, or click, on task bar and select task manager... find that program, and Kill it, then go add-remove programs and find and delete that software, problem gone.

You can end the Not Responding Application to task manager, just press ctrl+alt+del then click on task manager, or ctrl+shift+esc to go there directly, click on task that is not responding then click on End Task.

If you want to shutdown your computer that froze just press on the power button of your computer for 10 seconds or more to force it to shutdown.

Just right click the task bar and click properties and then click customize , then click restore default Over!!!!

Scan your sytem with antivirus.

if the game is brand new its not the game. the most likely reason this happens is because your computers graphics card is not sufficient, what is your graphics cards memory? the brand? model? if you do not know this, how old is your computer? when did you get it and when was the last time you updated your computer with new hardware?

this will allow you to delete the things that startup in the task bar. Windows will load faster, and you can open just the programs you want. This will not delete the program just remove them from automaticly starting up. RAM always helps. 1GB is the standard for XP to run very smoothly 2GB is the best

have you scan for virus ?
If you did scan for virus and it didn't find any virus.
Check the startup options , their might be program running on the background.

The other problem might be that their are a lot of program running on the background.
Look on the task bar on the right hand side . Is their a lot of program loaded?
If yes.
Close some of the programs and try to connect to the internet
