Temperature when using frigidare oven, keeps getting hotter and does not cool down

Good Afternoon Andrea,

I see that you're having issues with your Frigidaire oven, and the heating element being red hot the entire time you were cooking no matter how much you turned the temperature down.

I suggest giving your appliance a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power off at the circuit breaker for at least 2-3 minutes. When power is restored to your oven, you will need to set the clock by entering in the time and pressing start. Preheat the oven, to whatever desired temperature, and if it is still running hotter than it should be, I suggest you contact your local authorized technician. I hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

When the oven gets dirty and you don't run the clean cycle, dirt builds up and burns away the hotter the oven gets. Run the clean cycle if you have a self clean mode on the oven. throw the metal burner and grates in the oven too. (no plastic) open a window because it will stink and it takes a few hours to run. If not, use oven cleaner then run the oven to the hottest temp for at least 1-2 hours to burn the old dirt out..

Sounds like your oven burner is maybe setting at a angle, out of its bracket. You can turn down the oven flame by turning the burner orifice a little bit clockwise until the flame doesn't come up around the spreader plate. Also make sure your not blocking any vents on the bottom of the oven with foil or pans.

You are quite correct in saying that the thermostat is faulty.
Only solution is to replace it with a new one.
This should solve your problem.

Oven hotter at the back

You should always preheat oven to operating temperature before cooking anything.
Do not put too much in oven, leave plenty af space for good air circulation.
Do not place any reflective foil or the like on the bottom of oven or shelves, as this reflects heat, and you will get uneven cooking.
Make sure fan is working efficiently if it is fan assisted.

Un even cooking model #790.92314301

Generally, most units are properly calibrated at the factory.  Get an oven thermometer for a few dollars at Ace and place it in the oven and run it at a particular temperature...say 350.  If the thermometer is off more than about 15 degrees after warm up and stabilization...another 10 minutes, most manuals have a way of altering the thermostat settings to compensate.
