My new electrolux front loader is not filling with water during the wash cycle. The clothes are soaked, but there is NO extra water in the bottom of the tub. It does have extra water in there during the rinse cycle. Is this normal?

The machine needs to reprogrammed to normal level during the wash program and high level during the rinse circle. This can be done by reprogramming the machine by entering the service mode of the machine

My LG front-load washing machine does not completely wet the clothes in the speed cycle. I set to heavy soil and three extra rinses. How do I get more water?

When I was looking for a new washer, I looked at front loaders and was told that they are not really for dirty clothes, it is more for sprucing up an outfit or shirt. They are supposed to be energy efficient read this less water and shorter wash cycle.
I would go for a top load heavy duty, stainless steel tub.
You are just wasting money trying to get this one to wash over and over again. good luck.

How much water do I use when using a front loader say 5 items of clothes with 3 large towels and two sweater

many front loader washing machines don't have different water level options since they cycle the water differently than the "tub-o-soap" upright washers. The best answer I can give, if there are different fill settings, is to put the laundry in the machine and see how full it looks. Err on the side of overfilling, since the towels will soak up a lot of the water, and unless the sweaters are delicate or inclined to stretch out badly, I'd opt for an extra spin cycle to get rid of the excess water soaked up by the towels and sweaters.

During the spin cycle water pours continuously like fill cycle

This problem is commonly attributed to either a water inlet valve leaking by, or a pressure switch malfunction. The following link explains how to diagnose the problem:

I've included parts sources (if required) and how to repair each problem. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this information is helpful to you.

Is it getting enough water?

For front loaders, they usually have the level underneath the door, they use small amounts of water, but they spin so all the clothes do get
soaked with water.

GE washing macine stops during the wash cycle

This is exactly what my machine was doing, as well. I fixed it by cleaning out the filter in front of the water pump.

Searching here, I found that you can remove the lower front panel (three screws along the bottom edge is all it takes) to get to the filter. With the panel removed, you'll see a round white plastic cover (about 3-4 inches diameter) that screws out. Get a bucket under the cover to catch the water that's in it (could be 2 quarts or more) and unscrew the cover.

The cover pulls out, revealing that is actually a screw-in plastic strainer. I found tons of coins, broken pens, paper clips, etc. in mine when I did this. A lot will be deep inside the black rubber hose that connects this filter housing to the washer drum. You can rake the stuff out with a bent wire clothes hanger. Shaking the black hose will help hurry the junk along and out of your machine. Screw the cover back on after the clean out and your machine should go back to normal.

Thinking about it, front loaders will have lots of small items flushed into the pump compared to top loaders. Coins you alway found in the bottom of the drum in a top loader, they all wind up in the filter of a front loader. And once it slow the drainage to a crawl the machine will shut down multiple times when it can't drain the water out completely, and it will never step up to it's max spin speed with all that water still in the drum.

Which is better a top loader or front loader washing machine?

Front Loading Washing Machine: Fully automatic.
1. Better washing than toploading as technologically proofed.
2. No extra effort except putting cloths and detergent inside.
3. No need to observe in between while washing. Start and forgot. You can go market and come back.
4. No issue if electricity or water went out during washing.
4. Take more water compare to toploading semi-automatic.
5. You can not open it once it started.

Top Loading Washing Machine: Semi
1. Save water and detergent.
2. Need extra effort to put the cloth from one box to another.

Maytag Neptune Front Loader Washer

Sounds like the door lock unit isn't locking and may be bad. It is also a possiblity but not likely that there could be a problem with the computer board but start with the door lock unit first
