I have a Sharp XR-11xc and my bulb recently burned out. I ordered and replaced with a new lamp. It would turn on but no light would be projected. I read up on the subject and tried the reset of the lamp by holding down the down, menu, right, and enter keys along with power button and it worked...at first. Now, everytime i start the projecter, the lamp LED will blink green but no light will come out. After about 5 minutes of this then both the Power LED and the Lamp LED will go solid red. I have to unplug the P/S for a little bit and plug it back in to try to restart it again. After about 3 or 4 times of this same thing the lamp will then kick on and once it is on it will work perfectly no matter how long i leave it on! But after i turn it off overnight, the next day I have to go through the same process over and over and it takes at least 20 minutes to start it up...and thats if i am lucky enough to get it to start again that day! I keep resetting the Lamp Timer and sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. Any ideas???

I have the exact same problem. I've only reset the counter once though. It worked great at first, but seems to be getting worse. It's like it tries to start, just doesn't light up (maybe not warm enough???) then retries like 5 times until switching to the red light. Unplug and retry.... and eventually it does come on, and once on, all is ok. Is this just the projector trying to slowly 'break in' the new bulb since it has almost no hours?

Turn on optoma 605 R light flashes but wont stay on fan is running fine.
The problem is: Bulbs wear out. Especially projector bulbs. The operate at high temperature and the filaments break down in time. When they are intermittent (on/off) the filament expands and contracts, and at some point disconnect entirely. It is time to replace the lamp with a new one.

Replaced bulb but now won't light up
The pop you heard was not likely the lamp but a part in either the main power supply or the ballast. This is not a DIY repair. I would suggest that you get a repair estimate from a local service shop. My first inclination is that the ballast has failed.

The ballast is part number: DSETUD147FMF9
Total cost: $285 with a core of $120. This means that upon the return of the "bad" ballast, you will be refunded $120 making hte final cost $165 for the part.

My Sharp XR-11XC Projector died not long ago with very few hours of use. The unit will not power up nor does it show any signs of trying to. No LED lights, no fans - nada. I tested the fuse and it's...
I opened mine up hit the red reset in the front and now all good. If ur red light is blinking make sure ur lamp compartment is shut properly, if not the red light will blink and unit won't turn on.

I just replaced the lamp in my xr-11xc sharp projector, reset the timer, and it turned on. after shut down, i tried it again, and now the standby light comes on, i hear the fan spin up, then the lamp...
the colorwheel may be bad. if it doesn't spin, the lamp won't strike. if the colorwheel is ok, replace the power supply/ballast. you can get one and do it yourself, or send it to a sharp service center. either way, try www.avsolutionsny.com. they're really good.

I have a sharp xr-10x projector. The replace lamp light came on but the lamp still works. Understanding the inevitable I order a generic equivalent lamp because that is all that is available. Problem is...
You should consider using original lamp from sharp before some generic lamp destroys the ballast or power supply of the projector.

have you reset the lamp timer yet? can't remember the procedure for that one exactly often hold power and down and left arrows whilst plugging in power. Check info on instructions that came with your new lamp.

Lamp replacement
Hi traks137

You will have to reset both the lamp and filter timer before it will change the status of this unit.

Your user manual will have all the steps in it on how to do the required resetting.
