The anti flood system could have been triggered due to a water leak or spill at the bottom of the washer, This device (polysireene float and micro switch) when triggered shuts off the inlet water and puts the washer in pump out mode only. Use a torch and check if a small amout of water is causing the float to trigger the microswitch attached to the float. If a small amount of water leak / spill is causing this you need to first fix the spill / leak. before you try again.

How to repair - no water is entering the dish waterr

Your dishwasher is equipped with a safety system which is able to detect any operating problems. These anomalies are reported by
one or two wash cycle indicator lights "E" will flash rapidly.

Any flashing combination of LED diodes (Intensive wash, Regular wash, Eco wash, Rapid wash, Soak and Crystal care) means different error code. Take a note of which lights are flashing?

If you have problem with fill water than following two LED should be flashing.24428775-0h3kxpflbez5mdeb5anq3st4-3-0.jpg
In this case could be:
  • Water valve disabled
  • Turbine disabled
  • Control board faulty

Dishwasher won't drain completely. Several inches of standing water left after last cycle

Sounds like the wash/drain selector valve might be stuck. my Kenmore operating solenoid rusted and hung up. I cleaned and oiled it up. You can also have something that got into the valve and it won't close, or an obstruction in the drain hose or the drain pipe connector. Something is restricting the flow or the pump itself may have a bad impeller. Does it wash with vigor or has it lost a little oomph and sound different? Does it leave any debris on the dishes?

Check your drain hose to make sure no water from the sink is draining back into the dishwasher.
If it is,re-hook the drain hose up high under the sink.
Next.
Start the dishwasher without dishes or detergent.
Once the fill and was cycle begins, open the door and por in 1 quart of WHITE vinegar and resume the wash cycle to completion.

  • Test your water for hardness. Excessive dissolved calcium or magnesium will interfere with the soap and leave lime deposits on the dishes.
  • Check the spray arms and make sure they do not have garbage inside blocking the spray holes. They are made to be easily removed for cleaning.
  • Make sure the dishwasher drain line is working properly. A backup of first wash water will leave a lot of trash in the dishwasher that will reduce the effectiveness of the second wash cycle. You may have to babysit the dishwasher through a cycle to catch it and open it right at the end of the first drain cycle for inspection to be sure all of the dirty water is pumped out. I suggest timing the cycle indicators in case you miss that point; then you know when to be ready the next time.
  • Try a different brand of soap. Some just don't work well, particularly in hard water conditions.
  • If you haven't found the problem by this point, open up the pump and inspect it (particularly the water inlet screen and drain outlet) for foreign material.

Dishes are coming out with white residue after complete cycle. The filter has been cleaned. Repairman indicated that problem may be the motor and quoted $450 to replace. Any other ideas? Thanks

yes, it is your water and not the dishwasher. hard water leaves white residue when dried in a dishwasher. www.dishwasherfilter.com makes a prodcut for this problem. it filters the water entering your dishwasher and will leave your dishes looking crystal clear. it is very affordable(like 70 bucks) and has a money back guarantee. you will love it.

My dishwasher leaves a cloudy residue on my dishes

The cloudy residue that is left on your dishes is soap that has not completly broken down.

There are a few solutions to the problem. First off, you want to ensure that you are using the "high temp wash" option. This will boost your water temp during the wash cycle to ensure that all the soap breaks down.

The second thing that you want to do to give your dishwasher a boost, is run the hot water in the sink and make sure it's pipping hot before you start your dishwasher. What this will do is ensure that the water that goes in for the "pre wash" portion of the wash is hot and will improve the wash quality.

Good luck!
