Hi,
after I ran into the same issue today, and the above mentioned troubleshooting didn't work in my case, I thought I'd share what _has_ worked (as a last resort, sort of):
I had called Lexmark customer support (the chat agent couldn't resolve my issue and gave me their phone number), who suggested I reset the printer to factory defaults. This is done by the following:
0. press power button (long), until the X7675 powers off
1. press and hold the 'OK' and 'Start' button
2. press the power button again, and while still keeping 'OK' and 'Start' held, wait for the X7675 to power on and display the 'Copy' mode interface
3. let go of the 'OK' and 'Start' button; press the 'Installation' button, select 'Maintenance'
4. from the menu, select 'Manufacturers Test'
5. select 'Clear NVRAM', press 'OK'
6. wait for the X7675 to reboot
7. needless to say, this triggers the initial setup - you'll have to pick your language/country/fax settings anew
8. the X7675 will proceed to print an alignment page
9. after this, when you press 'Installation' again and go to 'Check Ink Levels' from the 'Maintenance' menu, you'll (hopefully) see both cartridges show up as full.
Again, this _resets_ your printer entirely. Only try if all else fails!
Hello. The cartridges may not be seated properly or just needs cleaning. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Make sure the protective nozzle tape is already removed. Wipe the nozzles of the cartridges using a damp paper towel. Unplug printer from power source, plug it back in after 10-15 seconds. When the printer's ready, reload one cartridge first. Close the cover, check if "out of ink" message is displayed. If not, proceed on loading the other cartridge. This is to check which cartridge is causing the problem. Try this steps maybe 2 or 3 times until the printer recognizes the cartridges. If problem persists, I strongly advise you to contact Lexmark at 1-800-LEXMARK(1-800-539-6275). You probably got defective cartridges.
