This is typical of the 20 amp fuse blown. It can blow due to slamming the door or even opening the door to quickly while it is running. It could also blow if there is a failure of one of the door interlock switches. This fuse is ceramic and looks similar to a cylinder automotive fuse and is located behind the control panel on this model.

Kenmore over range microwave oven / no power at all

Unfortunately, there is a good chance that when the bulb shorted out, it damaged the control board. The only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance. The relays for the fan and the lights are part of the board. The power should always be disconnected when these bulbs are replaced or the board will be damaged. We would have an appliance repair person take a look to see what the deal is with the microwave.

No power

The problem is most likely in the door latch circuitry. This is an expensive repair. Consider replacing the unit. If the door latch is not repaired correctly, very dangerous microwave energy can be released. This is not a do-it-yourself project. New ovens are very reasonable.

Kenmore microwave model 721.62644200

We see this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide for $39.95 postpaid.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.
