Missing bolt for toilet seat

The seat on my toilet is missing a bolt and I am unable to remove the other bolt to see what size it is. These bolts do not go right through the frame and use a nut. It seems like the inside of the body is threaded.

Thanks

A standard toilet seat bolt should be fine. There are some with a rubber boot that expands as tightened but you should be able to reach the nut by reaching into the tank and under the lip. The new nut & bolt should be plastic so they won't corrode.

Actually I have - I used to have the exact same model.. And if you reach down into the tank there is an opening to the area for the seat bolt at the bottom forward area of the tank. I replaced the seat myself.

Brobin. You must have never worked on this kind of toilet. You can not reach underneath. It's all built in together.

I have a coroma opal II toilet seat that needs to be replaced due to corrosion of the hinges, however am unable to losses the bolts?

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing with your Coroma Opal II toilet seat. If you're unable to loosen the bolts that secure the seat to the toilet bowl, here are a few suggestions you can try:
1. Apply penetrating oil: Spray some penetrating oil, such as WD-40, onto the bolts and let it sit for a few minutes. This can help loosen the rust and corrosion and make it easier to remove the bolts.
2. Use a wrench or pliers: If the bolts are not budging, you can try using an adjustable wrench or pliers to grip the bolts and apply more torque while attempting to unscrew them. Make sure to hold the nut underneath the toilet bowl to prevent it from turning.
3. Apply heat: Heat can sometimes help break the bond caused by corrosion. You can use a hairdryer or a heat gun to warm up the bolts, which might make it easier to remove them. Be cautious not to overheat any plastic parts.
4. Cut the bolts: As a last resort, you may need to cut the bolts using a hacksaw or a reciprocating saw. Take care not to damage the toilet bowl while doing this.
If you're still having trouble, it might be best to contact a professional plumber for assistance. They have the tools and expertise to handle difficult situations like this without causing damage to your toilet.

How do i remove a broken bolt which is embedded in the toilet, the bolt keeps the toilet seat lid fastened to the toilet?

There has to be either a nut and washer under the toilet, or if its reversed a bolt head with a washer under it holding it down. To remove it you can either use a hacksaw blade between the bowl and the bottom of the seat. Or use a dremel tool to slowly cut away the metal rod, etc., from the top. If using hacksaw put down some masking tape on the bowl so you don't scar up the enamel surfacr of the bowl. Work slowly and you will eventulaly cut through it.

I have a Kohler toilet and the toilet lid is fastened by 2 long plastic bolts. The covers on the bolts for appearance are missing and I need to locate where I can get replacements. It is a simple 1 inch...

These bolt covers usually come with the seats as one piece. You can also purchase generic bolt covers at your local hardware shop but it will look a little different.

I have a toilet which is a one peice. The toilet seat has come loose and the bolts have dropped to the floor. I can not fit the seat back as the pieces that i would use to tighten the seat are on the floor...

In no case would you ever have to pull a toilet to get to seat bolts. My guess is if you take the tank lid off and look inside there youll see the bolts . If not you can buy another toilet seat with new bolts or just get the bolts to fit your seat and tighten it down.Forget about the old bolts unless they become a problem with the flushing of the toilet. Hope this helps

How do you tighten bolts on Kohler toilet seats the bolt has a plastic cap?

The caps are at the back of the toilet seat. Just under the cap cover are the bolts. You will need a meduim sized flat screw driver. Hold the nut on the bottom and use the screw driver to tighten.

The covers pry up with a small screw driver IF they are square.

If they are more circular with ears they rotate counter clockwise about 30 degrees, Then lift the lid off.
