How to replace battery in archos 605 - Archos 605 WiFi Digital Media Player

By the looks of it, your need to open it up and unsolder the battery contacts and then resolder them.

If you don't feel up to doing it yourself, then try anywhere that repaires PC, laptop and such.
Check if they will do it and buy the battery yourself, might be cheeper that way.
Also check ebay incase it's cheeper there.

replacing the internal battery needs a service manual sir.

and the service manuals can be got from the company or other site for some small amount sir.

serial number or model number - isn't archos 605 is the model number? serial numbers are usually written inside battery compartment or battery cover and rarely displayed via settings/information menu

Hi, my Archos 605 160GB is doing the same, Sorry to say the battery has gone.

2. Replace the battery yourself I ordered mine from HK from the web site BatteryUpgrade. co. uk for about £24 - If you search on Utube there is a video showing you how to change the battery on smaller 605's

I found that I have to leave my archos 605 powered on to get a full charge out of it, blinking light and all

Hi,when this happens,please plug USB charger and run the Archos..if it runs immediately the HD and system is okay but the battery should be the faulty element.So just replace the battery.That was the case for my Archos 604 and than after battery replacement it was corrected.

If change the setting of the 605 to "hard disk" then a PC sees the 605 as a hard disc when connected using the usb lead. You can then copy and paste files directly to the 605..

erm im sorry but i doubt they will accept it if you have had it for a couple of months. for full confirmation check the warranty information.
