If the charge count on the batteries is under 300, Makita will replace them. Makita has a known defect in this battery that causes the battery to shut down before it is dead. So as of now they are exchanging ones with low use.

If they are truly defective and makita won't replace, you have to open them, find the dead cell or blown fuse, and replace. Search youtube makita battery for a video on repairing this battery. But once the red and green lights on the charger flash, the the battery can't be charged on a Makita charger -- it's been locked. So use a third party charger.

The pcb inside the battery has a microcontroller that monitor the charges and charge cycle. When the cell falls below a certain voltage, it will instruct the charger not to charge and will show with a red-green flashing light. If the battery has been tried 3 times in succession then the pcb will brick itself from the makita charger. So first replace the bad cells. There are 2 solutions at this moment: charge with a 3rd party lithium charger like the imax b6 or replace the pcb with a working one. check out my blog on http://mkbl1830.blogspot.com/

I don't think so. You're the one who replaced Konion cells with Ultrafire junk.

Can you fix a lithium battery?

The Makita 18V LXT Lithium - Ion Cordless Impact Driver Kit Model BTD140 us the BL1830 battery, there are several types for it, 1.5Ah, 3.0Ah, 4.0 Ah. Maybe 5.0Ah battery for it will be available. And, the inside of the BL1830 uses the 18650 battery cell. If you have a good knowledge and skill about electronic, you can buy some 18650 cell to do it yourself. If not, I suggest you to buy a brand new one.

You can buy some original battery for replacement battery for Makita BTD140 Battery

Why will a makita Li-ion 1.3ah battery not fit in other makita tools?

Some of the Makita 18v LXT tools require the BL1830 3.0AH battery and are designed that the 1.5AH battery will not fit.

Dewalt lithium battery won't charge

Your problem states you have a Makita tool and your question is about a Dewalt lithium battery. In either case if the battery won't take a charge or if the charger is showing the battery is defective the only fix is to replace the battery. Some causes for defective batteries or batteries that won't take a charge are bad cells in the battery, bad or shorted IC board in hte battery, broken or burnt connections between the many cells or between the cells and IC board or even bad or old cells that will no longer charge up. The time and effort needed to find out what the problem is then finding another battery to scavenge parts from (individual battery parts are not available) is never worth the cost of just buying another battery and going back to work with the tool(s).

One question please, I have makita cordlless

according to the schematic I saw yes you can and I think that you will be pleased with its performance, their operator manual even lists the weight of tool with this battery. Makita has a 1 year limited warranty on the Li-Ion battery that you might want to consider if you have the receipt.

I have 2 batteries that will not charge. They are 18v lithium batteries. The charger just flashes red and green

I do not about a Makita, but my experience with other brands is when that happens, it means the battery is no good and needs replacing.

I have a li-ion Makita BL1830 18V 3.0Ah battery that can't be charged...when on the charger the bottom two lights flash red..it will charge my other battery, so it doesn't seem to be the charger

Sorry Mate your battery is dead...
The makita lithium batterys dont like getting worked hard quickly.
There is a chip in them that recognice each battery to each specific charger. Try another charger. This has not worked for me. Try anyway
