Last night, we were using our Frigidaire oven to heat some salmon. My wife openned the oven door and there was a bright flash with sparks and a crackling noise, and a 1/2 inch portion of the element caught fire. The flames died quickly, but that portion of the element stayed bright white, while the rest of the element went from red to black. It stayed bright white even after we turned the oven off, and only dimmed to black after we un-plugged the oven/stove combo. What should we do?

Kill the power to the stove. L2 is always hot to the element. If it welded itself to the frame whats left of the element stays hot. Easy fix but power needs to be OFF

Model #FEFL79DSA Frigidaire electric range. 2004 vintage. Last night wife was cooking supper at 350F. After half hour she noticed sizzling sound which was not normal.

Based on the information provided, it seems like there may have been a problem with the oven's thermostat or temperature sensor. It's possible that these components malfunctioned, causing the oven to continue heating beyond the set temperature.
Since the issue seems to have resolved itself and the oven is currently functioning properly, it's difficult to determine the exact cause of the problem. However, if the issue occurs again, it's important to have a professional technician inspect and repair the oven to ensure that it operates safely and efficiently.
Intermittent issues can be difficult to diagnose and can potentially be dangerous, so it's important to take any signs of malfunction seriously and address them promptly.

Unlock oven door on model #FGGS3065PF

If the oven display is showing LOC, then the lockout feature was enabled. Press and hold the key pad with the padlock symbol for 3+ seconds. This is just below the Timer On/Off key pad and to the right of the Light key pad. You should see the word DOOR and the padlock icon flash until the door is unlocked and the control panel is released.

If the word DOOR and the padlock icon are lit, then the oven is in the self-clean mode. The lock should release after you cancel the self-cleaning cycle by pressing off and the oven cools down (at least one hour). Unfortunately, sometimes the heat of the self-clean cycle will damage the oven. Either the oven temperature sensor will not give the release signal or the door lock will not disengage. In that case, the oven needs to have the correct part serviced.

The documentation for the Frigidaire FGGS3065PF is available on the product page at Home Depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Frigidaire-Gallery-30-in-4-5-cu-ft-Slide-In-Gas-Range-with-Self-Cleaning-Convection-Oven-in-Stainless-FGGS3065PF/204759413 . See page 15 for the Oven Lockout feature. See page 28 for the self-cleaning information.

I hope this helps.

How to test oven control board on a Frigidaire FEF366DBE?

Hello Shawn Lloyd, thank you for your post!

I see that your Frigidaire range blew the breaker to your home out and now the oven will not heat up properly. There is not information provided in order to test the control panel I would recommend having a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. The technician will be able to use appropriate tools in order to verify the control panel is working properly. -Matt

Oven Door Locked

the oven door does lock during self clean, otherwise it will not work. however, the door is supposed to unlock after the oven has cooled. if it is still locked, turn the oven to self clean and wait about a minute and then hit cancel and see if the door unlocks. if not, there may be a probelm with the door lock mechanism. Oven not heating KitchenAid KERC506HWH3

Built-in ovens have a thermal fuse mounted in the back of the oven preventing the bake and broil from operating. In some cases this fuse will open after a self clean operation. In some models, the cooling fan turns off too soon, causing an overtemperature condition that may also cause the fuse to open. You will have to remove the oven and take off the back panel to gain access to this device.

Oven door not closing

I was having the same problem with my frigidaire oven door. I was thinking that it was the seal getting in the way at first, but then I realized that the hinges needed to be repositioned. I wasn't in the mood for that kind of reengineering, so I came up with a better solution. Magnets. Not those **** fridge magnets either. Neodymium magnets. Place them on the upper part of the inside of the door, near the door lock (outside of the seal). You'll only need about three or four depending on the size. (get the fatest ones you can). If you know a computer geek you might be able to get a few free magnets from an old hard drive. I used five of these and I can just about pull the oven out of it's place while trying to open the door. The onhly problem is that heat destroys magnets and I can't say how long these will last because I just figured this out tonight.
