If you have an iPod, then use iTunes on your desktop to load up your iPod with your iTunes music.

Then, use a program like TouchCopy to copy your iPod content onto your laptop or straight to iTunes. TouchCopy lets you copy all your music, video, photos, contacts, notes, calendars, games and more from your iPod.

To copy your iPod music using TouchCopy, you will need to...
1. Download and install TouchCopy on your laptop. TouchCopy works with all iPod types and the iPhone. There are free PC and Mac downloads available from here
http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy

2. Ensure that iTunes is closed before connecting your iPod. Then start TouchCopy and connect your iPod. TouchCopy will have fixed your iTunes preferences so that iTunes will not sync music or video with your iPod while TouchCopy is running. These changes are restored when you quit TouchCopy.

3. Use TouchCopy to copy all your iPod content to your laptop hard drive or straight into iTunes.

4. You can then use iTunes to re-sync your iPod, which will re-load your iPod with all your music and let you add new content to it too.

My iPad was "reset all setting" and now it only display an usb cable and draws an arrow to the word itunes. It is iPad 16 GB Model A1396, FCC ID: BCGA 1396 and IC: 597C-A1396 How to return it normal?

It is telling you to connect it to your PC or laptop where you have iTunes installed. If you don't already have iTunes installed in your computer, you will need to download and install the iTunes software to it. When your iPad is connected, iTunes will synch and update it if you managed to erase the O/S or other necessary items. iTunes connected via the USB cable is even able to install or update the tablet's operating system. It's not just for music.

Your laptop or desktop will need to be connected to the Internet in order to download updated or original operating system. Just follow the prompts.

How to re-create iTunes library

Follow these steps:

1. Quit iTunes.

2. Locate your iTunes folder.

For Microsoft Windows XP and 2000 the iTunes folder is stored in

System drive\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\

For Microsoft Windows Vista the iTunes folder is stored in

System drive\Users\username\Music\

3. Open your iTunes folder.

4. Drag the iTunes Music Library.xml to the Desktop

5. Drag the following file from your iTunes folder to the Trash:

Microsoft Windows: 'iTunes Library.itl' (in versions of iTunes prior to 4.9 this was called 'iTunes 4 Music Library.itl')

6. Open iTunes.

7. From the File menu, choose Import.

Note: Do not add any music into iTunes at this point.

8. Navigate to the iTunes Music Library.xml file on the Desktop.

9. Click Open.

After re-creating your library, any devices that you sync with iTunes (Apple TV, iPod, etc) will see your iTunes library as a new library and will completely re-sync.

Burn a program to CD or DVD

All you have to do is backup the ITunes folder in Music, then reinstall ITunes after your system is stable. Launch ITunes, then close it and replace the newly created folder with the old one. All your settings and playlists will be there.
The music should be on a separate drive or partition always. You may have to right click on the music and locate files manually if the directory has changed. They will be listed as orphans until ITunes sees them. gl

Cant get itunes to start up

Hello,
Most cases if iTunes will not open, you can reinstall it to fix the issue. This will not remove your music library. Goto your control panel and select add / remove programs or programs and features. Scroll the list and highlight iTunes, Click remove / change / uninstall to remove it from your computer. Now here to download the latest version and install: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

I want to install my ipod touch with itunes but i dont know how. please help.

Go to apple.com, click on the iTunes button in the bar. Then click download itunes on the upper right side. Enter you email if you want updates or news, if you don't uncheck the boxes.
Install after download.

After you have installed it open iTunes and plug in your ipod. It should recognize the device and you can start putting movies and music on it.

Putting music on you PC is easy with iTunes insert the music disc, download and drag and drop into you ipod. Or if its already on your computer just drag and drop the music files into the Library in iTunes.
Hope this helps!

Unfortunately iTunes doesn't let you transfer anything other than your iTunes store purchases from your iPod.

Here is how to use TouchCopy

  2. Start up TouchCopy by double-clicking the TouchCopy icon on your desktop
  3. Connect your iPod or iPhone to your computer. TouchCopymay start iTunes - don't worry, TouchCopy has fixed it so that iTuneswill not sync music or video with your iPod while TouchCopy is running. These changes are restored when you quit TouchCopy.
  4. Now select which songs you want to copy into iTunes, if you want toselect all your music, select "Music" from the list on the left andclick on "Copy to iTunes" button in the TouchCopy control bar. In a similar way, you can also use TouchCopy to copy your playlists, videos, podcasts, photos, contacts, calendars and notes.

I cant open my itunes on yt desktop

Backup your "My Music" folder to a DVD-writable disk or to an external hard-drive.

Use 'Add/Remove Programs' to uninstall iTunes.

Download the newest version of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes

Install iTunes -- it should find all your music in your "My Music" folder, and import the music.
