My acer 4001WLMi travelmate crashed i feel and is only 3 years old and i have not been abusing it. I don't use the machine to its potential and only use for domestic use only. Can you help me please. lionel kershaw

If the crash is Hardware failure can't help! however if the crash is software ie O/S you may need to totally reload the O/S if you do not have the original disc with the O/S you will need to purchase and load or go to Support.acer-euro.com-drivers.

    Which Driver? identify then go to ACER support euro.com, there you will find access to most drivers.

Hi, you can try the following process:
RESTORE COMPUTER TO ITS ORIGINAL SETTINGS WITHOUT RECOVERY CDs

This process will restore the c:drive with the original software that is installed when youpurchase your netbook. follow the steps to rebuild the c:drive which will be reformatted.

Check the BIOS settings
-Make sure the acer d2d (disk to disk) recover setting in MAIN is ENABLED
-Exit the BIOS and save changes. the system will reboot.
- Activate the BIOS by pressing the F2 key as your computer starts up.

TO START THE RECOVERY PROCESS (here's where it didn't do anything)

-Start the system
-While the acer logo is showing, press alt and f10 at the same time to enter the recovery process.
-Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery

My acer travelmate 4230 is losing power very quickly when it is not plugged in...it seems like the battery is not holding a charge very well. is my battery just old? any suggestions?
If the battery is 2 or 3 years old or more chances are it needs to be replaced. When you charge it and it gives you less than 30 minutes it is time to replace it, ebay is a good place to start if you are considering getting a new one.
