First I would run a dvd cleaner in unit! Second you could take tv apart and look to see if signal cable is loose. the power wire seem fine as it powers up, and accepts an eject dvd.

The short of it is, is that your TV may not be set up for progressive scan. Try turning off progressive scan on your DVD player's menu and see if this works.
