Playing DVDs I live in UK (Region 2) and wish to send a set of Only Fools and Horses DVDs to my uncle in Australia (Region 4). He has a Panasonic DMR-EZ47V. Will UK DVDs play on this his machine? Thank you.

Will need the model and name of your player? If it is a Sony then your chances aren't good!

Unfortunately, you have a DVD player that is "Region Specific" and cannot be changed. Your system has a region code printed on the back of the unit and will only play DVDs that are labeled with identical region codes. DVDs labeled "ALL" will also play in this unit. If you try to play any other DVD, the message " Playing this disc is prohibited by area limits." will appear on the TV screen. Depending on the DVD, no region code indication may be labeled even though playing is prohibited by area limits.

Dont have the dvd player in question : try this not sure if it'll work so come back and let me know

If you live in Australia, you can only play UK or PAL Blu-Rays or those that are region free. DVD Region X doesn't work on the PS3.

Did you try to change the region to region 2 to play the new dvds?

1. Press the Menu button on your remote control 2. Press the 5 button on your remote control 
3. Press the 7 button on your remote control 
4. Press the 5 button on your remote control 
5. Press the 3 button on your remote control 
6. Press the 8 button on your remote control 
7. The currently selected region will be indicated on the TV. 
8. Press the 1 button on your remote control for region 1, the 2 button for region 2, and so on, or the 9 button for multi-region playback 
9. Press the Menu button on your remote control 
10. Press the Menu button on your remote control 

Tested with Region 1 DVD's on my UK player (Region 2 bought from Comet)

You need to hack the dvd reinstalled firmware, I can see if I find hacked firmware for your dvd
