Hi,
As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Whirlpool French door not making ice, but can get water. I had the water valve replaced and it still does not make ice help

Okay, here's a bunch of info in the order I would troubleshoot since the one year warranty expired.

1) The water filter might be clogged. Try just removing it to see if it makes ice. If it does change the water filter.

2) The water inlet valve might (still) be defective. The water inlet valve is an electro-mechanical valve. The coil can show good for continuity and still not let the water thru although you didn't say if it worked when he left. if recently replaced it should be under his warranty.

3) The water pressure in the house might be too low. The water inlet valve which supplies water to the ice maker is designed to work with a minimum of 20 psi of water pressure.

4) The door switch might be defective. When the freezer door is opened the freezer door switch does two things, it turns on the light in the freezer and turns off the ice maker and dispenser. If the door switch fails the dispenser will not turn on. The switch can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter. If it doesn't have continuity it should be replaced.
5) It could be that the ice maker assembly itself is defective. The freezer temp should be between 0-5 degrees for the ice maker to cycle properly. There are several components in the control module of the ice maker that can fail and most are not sold separately. Also, ice makers have a relatively short lifespan and so it might not be worth fixing. If other, simpler parts like the water inlet valve or shut off arm have been ruled out, and the only thing left is the ice maker itself, replace it as a unit. Not as expensive as you may think...Under $100

6) The icemaker module at the front might also be defective. The module has a motor that cycles the ice ejector arms around to push the ice cubes out when the ice maker thermostat closes. It also has contacts in it for the mold heater and water inlet valve. The motor or contacts of the module can fail. Usually there are test points in the module that a service person can use to determine if there is a problem with it or one of the related ice maker components.

7) The icemaker mold thermostat might be defective. Inside the control module of the ice maker is a thermostat which monitors the temperature of the ice mold (ice tray). Once the mold reaches the proper temperature the ice maker starts a harvest cycle by ejecting the ice cubes and refilling with water. If the mold thermostat is defective the ice maker doesn't advance. The thermostat can be checked for continuity. Replace it as needed. The freezer temp should be between 0-5 degrees for optimum performance.

I have a Kenmore Model 106-55602400 Coldspot and the icemaker stopped working. What do I do?

The control module has failed on the ice maker. You can replace the control module alone, but I would replace the ice maker completely.
Here is a link for the control module.
Here is a link for the new ice maker.

No water to ice maker. Water dispenses in refrigerator ok. Filter is new. Also control panel not working in refrigerator section.

Its unusual that both parts would go at one time it could be you had a lightening strike or a power surge that took out both parts as they have nothing in common that one causes the other to operate other than temperature. This is what I would do. Since the control board is obviously bad I would replace that first. Let it run a day or two and if the ice maker does not start I would replace that part. I have linked them below.

To replace the ice maker module you must remove the ice maker and then remove the wiring before installing the new module to prevent the contacts from being bent inside the ice maker wire connector. Install the new module then connect the wires and place it in the freezer. Also if your ice maker has no water in it now the module is not the problem....get back to me.

Ice maker either doesnt work on my Maytag MFF2558VEA or when it does it produces too much ice. every time we open the freezer, ice pours on to the floor.

Good day,
There is a wire shut off arm that on the front extends into the control module of the ice maker.
If it's in place then the problem is the ice maker itself.
The control module can be replaced but isn't very cost effective. The ice maker should be replaced. It includes the module as well as many other components that can fail.

My ice maker quit making ice. I've had this

Check for broken gear or cam in the ice maker module. You can repair them but it might be easier to replace. If your gear and cam are good it pobably is something else that's wrong.

Sound the the bi-metal is starting to fail or the freeezer is not getting cold enough. If you put a thermometer into the freezer and it gets below 8 degrees and does not harverst then your looking at the ice maker which is a Whirlpool part number 4317943. This a kit will replace most of those style ice makers. It is the quickest and easiest way to solve your problem. You should be able to get it for between $85 to $160 depending on where you live and who you buy it from.

Kenmore side by side ice maker

Hello,
There are as you can imagine many possible causes for you no ice condition. I will give you the most common problem for the year model you have. I hope this helps you.
You will need to remove the ice maker from the freezer compartment to check it. Once it is repaired if the following information does help, and you reinstall the ice maker, it should go through a cycle automatically within an hour of your reinstalling it in the freezer compartment.
Once you have the ice maker out of the freezer compartment you will need to remove the white cover on the end of the ice maker and look at the center of the large white gear. If the part inside the hole in the center of the gear is broken or looks twisted, you will need to replaced the module. The module is the part that has the large white gear and is held in the ice maker by 3 phillips head screws. It only comes as an assembly. You can't get just the little broken piece.

Ice maker not working

Your ice-maker only operates when the temperature in the freezer gets to -17 degrees. There is a thermostat built into the ice maker that makes this possible. All you are doing with the jumper is bypassing the thermostat. If ice-maker still does not operate then you may have to replace the ice-maker.

Jenn air model JRSD209T

If you have a cold enough temp in the icemaker a heater should then kick in to warm the plate and a motor then turns and drives the ice out. The ice maker modules can be repaired, but the checks need to be carried out by fridge guys. Alternatively you can replace the whole module but this can vary in cost quite dramatically. Hope this has been of some help.
