here is what i found aspine 1690 ,tm 4100, tm 4020 uses the same motherboard.

then download for acer- travelmate 4100 or travelmate 4020 .

it migh have a problem with the cooler.take the notebook to a service an change your cool then it will be ok

Hello, the major reason of laptop randomly shutdown is Overheating, you said it is not over heating...

I will suggest you couple of things that you can try:

1) remove the battery and plug the laptop on direct power supply, then place the laptop on a flat and hard surface and then boot the laptop.

or do a complete virusscan of the laptop.

or reinstall the OS...

Would need more detail but sounds like it is a problem with your processor overheating because of ur fan situation. To be sure of this download a program such as speedfan to gauge your temps.
