You need a Digital to Analog converter box as your TV is analog, and all broadcasts, since Last June 12 are Digital.

Check and replace its main chroma IC. It is defective. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

Only suggestion is if set was plugged in when you did what you did--unplug it and any box or receiver plugged in and wait a while--plug back and let the equipment try to reboot.

the 1inch black line is either a buffer board gone bad or the ribbon cable from the plasma screen to the buffer board, the snowy picture could be many things, including y-sus, xsus or tuner boards
