Experiencing problems with my Olympus xD-Picture Card, its a 512MB. My camera Olympus 700 7.1 megapixel is randomly displaying "card error" and when I try to import the pictures onto my pc there are usually thumbnails displayed but there is no image just a symbol of a cracked picture and a message says that these pictures cannot be imported.
Try re-formatting the card.
I bought an olympus xd-picture card (1 gb). I put the card in and it says card not ititialized. I format the card and it seems to work. I take a picture and it says card error. Then it goes to not initialized.
how can i fix this????

First things first - need to make sure that the card is making proper electrical contact with the camera. Have a look at the contacts at the edge of the card and make sure they are spotlessly clean - even a fingerprint may cause problems.
Also, make sure the contacts in the camera have nothing causing a contact problem, and see if this resolves the issue.

i bought a 2 gig secure digital card and when i formatted i get the "card error"problem, what can i do for this?
I took a whole mess of pictures on my camera as usual, and everything was good until I turned the camera back on and card error was displayed on the screen of the camera. It only gives the option to format or erase the xd picture card. I took it to Best Buy so they could read the card on a reader of some sort and they said it won't recognize the card. So what can I do next? Will it be possible to retrieve the data?
