hello, remove cartridges, clean with something soft the wiring of both printer cartridge slot and cartridge itself, make sure you use alcohool, sanitary or even parfume wich dries fast and is not greasy, after that power up printer and check to see if everything is alright, if other error ocurs reply here.
One of the cartidges you have purchased is faulty.
you can reinstall the empties one at a time as a process of elimination to determine which new cartridge is the problem
Hey I figured out how to fix this problem. The problem is not the cartridge it is the clamp that holds the cartridge down if you look at the bottoms of the cartridges the offending cartridge is lower. I beleave it is the spring that gets tired in the hold down lever. What I did was put a piece of cardboard behind(above) the black plastic with spring in the lever. What I used was a coaster from the bar and that tightend it up enough and it worked right away.
thanks
Cory
I also have this same problem. I currently have refilled cartridges in there purchased from cartridge world. I never had any problems with my HP until i tried refilled cartridges for the first time about 6 months ago. When i first purchased a refilled cart. it took 3 trips back to the store until i got one that would work in my HP. so im wondering if this is why i am now getting this "remove and check cartridge" error message.? I am reluctant to go out and buy a new HP ink cartridge just to find out ill have the same problem....
have you tries inserting new set of ink cartridge???
try this...
> unplug the power chord.
> remove the rear access door.
> check for any jammed paper. if so remove it.
> clean the rollers using a lint free cloth.
> close the rear access door.
> keep pressing the on button for 20 seconds
> plug the power chord.
> try to copy
if no go
> unplug the power chord while it is turned on
> remove the cartridges
> press and hold the ok and cancel button at the same time.
> while holding them insert the power chord, and wait for few seconds and then release your hands.
> when it asks for the ink cartridge, insert them ad check.
This happens if you refilled the cartridges, and forgot to take out the air..
Follow this steps.. 1. Switch on the printer, open cartridge bay, remove cartridge, dont close the cartridge holder flaps, directly unplug the power supply from the printer end.
2. take a soft cotton, lint free cloth, slightly swab it with pure water, wring the cloth so any excess water is removed, and clean the contact pins inside the printer cartridge holder..
3. clean the cartridge head by keeping it in hot water (about 50C) and then wiping it clean, keep it upright for a few min, and when both printer and cartridge is completly dry put it back in, voila it should not display the message now...
