Error Code F13 and door locked

I ran a cleaning cycle and when it was done the door did not unlock. I powered the oven down and back up. Upon power up I got a F13 error message. How can I get the door unlocked? Is the thermocouple cooked?

Unlock GE JB550GJ - Manual Self-Clean Latch

Self cleaning programs break things 80% of the time. You should never ever use that cycle. 650'F is too brutal to elements, fans, latches and circuit boards that are above the oven. I have never known one with a manual latch.

You need a new stove or a GE Technician service call.

Even parts seem hard to come by if that model number is correct.

Have Frigidaire Gas oven FFGF3053LSF. We had a power surge & F13 code came on display. Power restored, clock works, F13 code is gone- but now a DR code comes on when I push bake or broil button

Exact same thing happened to me. After a power failure my Frigidaire stove worked and the clock worked but bake broil and self clean gave me a DR error. Tried everything to reset nothing worked. When I unplugged and plugged back in I got an f13 code.I changed the control board and the entire oven is back in business!c86f7aab-24e4-4403-bcd6-0b838d53ac57.jpeg

What does error code F-90 mean on a Kenmore delf cleaning wall oven

The F90 error code indicates that the door unlock time exceeded. This will happen if the lock is in the locked position with the oven door open or if the lock motor fails. Have someone hold in the oven door light switch while you set the control up for the self-cleaning cycle. Let the self-cleaning cycle run for only 4-5 minutes then press stop/cancel. This should allow the lock assembly to reset & retract the door lock back into the unlocked position.

You can also try resetting the appliance by disconnecting it from the outlet or switch off the circuit breaker for 20-30 minutes. Once power is restored run a test cycle. If this does not work I suspect a door lock assembly failure. This type of diagnosing will require accessing the lock assembly & using a volt/ohm meter for testing

F5E1 or FSE1 error code DOOR LOCKED LATCH NOT OPERATING

On this double oven, each door has it's own latch mechanism that consists of a motor, a position switch, and the door switch used to activate the cavity lights. Because the error indicated a latch failure (and the bottom door was locked), Start by cycling the power to the unit. Each time the power is removed and then applied to these ovens, both latches will lock then unlock the doors to ensure they are in the home open position. By doing so, you might be able to get the bottom oven door opened allowing me access to the latch assembly. With the latch removed, I try to begin a clean cycle so you could watch the motor operate and you will probably find that it will start to turn, but never would rotate enough to lock the door. Since the position switch was not actuated at the end of the motor operation, the F5 E1 error was again displayed. Replace the motor assembly

Viking deso175ss ran self clean cycle, tried to stop the cycle early. oven door locked wont reset. tried turning power on/off. was able to get door open by pushing latch to left, however it still will not...

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I understand you have a Vking oven that is not unlocking after stopping (interupting) a self clean cycle, correct ? (I think the letters in the model should be "DSOE" as opposed to deso, aren't they ?)

Though this can cause issue's with the lock mechanism, it is unlikely anything was damaged...in my opinion of course, thus I don't think you need to start swapping parts.

If this hasn't already been done, I would suggest prepairing your oven as if everything was status quo for a self clean cycle.

Close the door, select self clean and let it go through it's start-up and lock sequence. Your going to stop it again, just as Viking instructs pressing "off" which should allow the lock mechanism to properly lock and then unlock.

During the clean cycle the unit usually has to cool before allowing for the door to open which can take up to 30 minutes, (this is why it counts down from 4 hrs even though the cycle is 3.5 hours) but since it should already be cool I'm hoping the lock will go a full revolution to it's normal position.

Normally these ovens will go through a self check sequence upon a power up (if power was lost and then restored...aka "onboard watchdog") which should include the lock assembly rotating to it's unlock position, but they can get out of sequence at times in my experience.

The other method I've tried and had success with is having a secone person hold the door switch closed while power is turned off and then restored a few minutes later.

Let me know if you have tried that and if not try it and get back to me. Hopefully that will restore it's proper function. Good luck.

Macmarkus :)

Got error code F9 while oven cleaning in process. What does this mean?

An F9 error code on a General Electric (GE) oven indicates that the oven's electronic control system has detected a problem with the automatic door lock.
The automatic door lock mechanism prevents the oven door from being opened when the oven is set for "Clean" mode.

The malfunction may be a jammed door lock mechanism, a pinched or broken wire, a faulty lock switch or a fault in the control board itself.

9 out of 10 times the lock switch has failed.

STEP # 1 - Disconnect power to the oven!!

  • Step 2 Open the oven door. Remove three screws from underneath the oven's control panel. Lift the control panel straight up to disengage the mounting pins on the top corners of the panel, then tip the panel toward you.
  • Step 3 Inspect the door lock mechanism. The mechanism is in the lower left area of the space behind the control panel. Rotate the cam on the door lock mechanism to be certain it moves without binding. Replace the mechanism if its mechanical parts do not function properly.
  • Step 4 Inspect the wires that connect the door lock mechanism to the control panel. Check for pinched or broken wires. Check for wires with frayed insulation2_bing.gif. Repair wires as needed if defects are present.
  • Step 5 Locate the six-pin connector on the door lock motor on the right end of the door lock mechanism.
  • Step 6 Rotate the cam on the door lock mechanism to the unlocked position. Test the resistance between Pin 3 and Pin 1 of the door lock connector with the ohmmeter. The resistance should be 0. Replace Lock Switch 2 of the door lock mechanism if the resistance reads other than 0.
  • Step 7 Rotate the cam on the door lock mechanism to the locked position. Test the resistance between Pin 3 and Pin 2 of the door lock connector with the ohmmeter. The resistance should be 0. Replace Lock Switch 1 of the door lock mechanism if the resistance reads other than 0.

    Oven door will not unlock

Hello,, Some times this will happen after a self clean cycle if the timer did not finish the entire clean. Try to set the clock to start the self clean again then simply end the self clean. This should unlock the door. If the door remains locked. You may check the oven for an error code, or the door latch itself may need to be replaced. One other possible would be to turn off the power to the oven and try to let the oven control reset. leave the power off for about 15 minutes then turn the power back on. That will sometime work aswell. Good luck and feel free to call me if you need more help.

Cleaning Kenmore double ovens back to back. During second cleaning got F9 code and the bottom oven is locked. Cleared the F9 will the bottom oven unlock when it cools down?

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.
