Put equal amounts rice and water (up to 3 cups only) in liner pot, plug in, put lid on, flip little front switch. 10-15 minutes later it will be done and the pot will switch to "warm" mode by itself. Gently fluff with paddle before serving. You can also add salt or other seasonings to the water/rice mixture before starting.

The three cup cooker needs 2 parts water to one part rice. IF you are using uncooked rice. If you are
using par boiled you will need to do something different. Cooking time for brown and/or wild rice will be about
40 minutes. How do I know? I just cooked a pot.

Solution #2 is correct according to the manual. You can get the manual emailed to you in PDF format by calling 1(800) 738-0245, M-F, 8:30am - 8:00pm Eastern Time.

Ooops. The site changed the numbering sequence of the solutions. The solution provided by egardenut is correct. Use equal parts rice and water. The "800" number I posted is valid. Call (800) 738-0245 to have the user manual emailed to you free of charge.

3 cup ricecooker and steamer

your cooker can only cook about 1 1/2 cups of rice(raw) add 1 cup rice to 1 1/2 ( 1/3 if youlike dryer rice) water , you should have a lever, push down to cook it will pop up when the rice is finished allow about 4 min to let the steaming stop

to steam you need a steamer basket or the fan folding type, it should be about 1/2 inch off the bottom of the cooker add about 1/2 cup water( time will depend on what your steaming)

Lost my instruction book...want instructions to make rice in cooker...ratio of rice and water please

I have a Toastmaster 3 cup rice cooker but think the ratio would be the same.
Long grain white rice - 2 rice measuring cups - water to 2 cup line = 8 (1/2 cup) servings
3 rice measuring cups - water to 3 cup line = 12 (1/2 cup) servings

Long grain brown rice - 1 1/2 Rice measuring cups - water to 3 cup line - 6 (1/2 cup) servings

For fluffy rice: After cooker shuts off, allow rice to stand for approx. 15 minutes, covered, before serving.

Hope this helps

How do I use the salton ra10 rice cooker.

It came with a small plastic measuring cup. The ratio for that is 1 cup rice to 1 cup water (using the measuring cup for both items). Measure out your rice first, BUT for best results you need to rinse your rice several times (I do three times or until the water is fairly clear). Place rinsed rice in cooker and add equal amout of water . You can also add in your butter and salt at this time if you wish. put lid on cooker, plug it in and push the little lever down (it'll click). It will cook for about 20 minutes and the lever will pop up on its own. Don't do anything yet! you need to wait about 10-15 minutes more, or at least until the steam stops before you open the lid. The rice should be cooked perfectly.
There will (with this model) be a light brown crust on the bottom of the pan, butthe instruction manual said that it was a normal occurance (but it is a buggar to get that off-soaking for a couple hours helps).
I really like using rice cookers because they do a great job in cooking the rice. I hope this clarified how to use this model.
