Sony Grand Wega KF50WE610. No picture, no sound. Green light comes on and then starts flashing red. Bulb light does not come on.

Problems that do not happen all the time are hard to find--2 things: if set blinks the red light try to count the blinks--usually that is an error code.

Also this set if it does for the most part work should have an error buffer.

With the set turned off and using the Sony remote:

If it has this when it comes on there will be a box in the middle of the screen with several items listed---all must have a zero to the right of them---if one has a number(any number) it means it has detected that error that number of times.

You just need to replace the lamp, put the model number in a search engine and chose the best priced one for you

Try thermal sensor.

The most common cause of No Picture - Lights Flashing, or Intermittent Picture - Picture Cuts Out in all Sony LCD TVs is bulb failure.

No troubleshooting or replacing parts should be attempted without installing a "known" good bulb. This is not a fault, the mercury in the bulb has been consumed.

Many dollars are spent on parts and service when the only problem is bulb failure.

New bulb is just fine.
3 blink shows that lamp cover after replacement of bulb in TV is not fixed properly or not seated well in its position.
Put new bulb and carefully place back lamp cover in its position because lamp cover will press tinny safety switch inside that will send signal to system control of TV that lamp is installed properly.
Turn On TV and get vivid picture of Sony.

Sounds like the start up circuit relay. Do you hear any click?

Yes that is the indicator telling you its time to replace the lamp in your unit.

i also have the same problem with the flashing green light for a while then a different red light starts blinking on and off around 5 times....and i replaced my burnt bulb with a new one...still no picture.
