The display/control panel on my kitchenaid oven model KESC308LSSO is functional but does not light up. What part would I need to fix this? + looking for video of repair

I assume the display is hard to see but otherwise the unit function correctly? I'm going to gear my answer to this issue. If everything on unit functions but just can't see clock and temp. settings, you have a bad display. That's gonna be part #2. I'm not how to upload video but go to youtube and type in Kitchenaid slide in electric control replacement. The top video should give you a good idea on how to change display board out. Good Luck

What coating is used in oven? Need to replace some as is peeling.

Appliance touch-up paint will work well. Recommend some LIGHT sanding before painting to assure a good bond. VERY important that the paint is completely dry - at least a day or two, with the oven door open - before you use the oven.

Advantium display reads "nite"

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes. Feel free to contact me directly (see below) if you have other questions.- William E. Miller, AS-EET

You most likely had a power surge and blew a fuse. First unplug the unit, then remove the top grill. There will either be one screw on top of the control pad or 2 on the left side. open the control panel and look for a fuse that has a ceramic center and replace it with a 20 amp one. You can find these at the hardware store

What would cause the touch panel display screen on our model gh6177xpb3 microwave to not function - the panel lights up - the lower controls seem to function properly - Thank-you in advance for your...

It may be a glitch that can be corrected by a hard reset. Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

It may have gotten moisture, contamination, or grease inside, which can happen if one cooks on the stove top without having the microwave's hood vent fan on.

It may simply need repair.

Microwave was installed yesterday by "handyman"

Sounds like you have a defective door switch, door switch mount, or (worse) possible damage to the "hooks" which go into the holes in the chassis to activate the switches. Be sure to unplug it first. If this is an over the range model, you should not have to remove it from the wall to fix it. Generally speaking, you remove the grille across the front, then you'll see a screw holding the control panel frame on. Once that's removed, you lift the control panel assembly up and out. Then you can see the door switches and lathces, etc. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety and disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your base model number (without the suffix) here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

Complete functioning control panel but nothing works.

This is a problem with the control panel assembly, which we repair nationwide for $32.50 postpaid. Sometimes the bulbs short when they fail, and that damages the control board. This also can happen when bulbs are removed or installed without first unlugging the oven or turning off the breaker. For critical safety & disassembly info and other details of our service, see http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
