Oven door not closing properly

. Ilve built in 900mm oven. Door does not seem to stay properly closed now, letting heat out. Seems like hinged door is loose and only stays tightly closed if I push on the door

Where can I buy replacement springs/hinges for an old enamel Welbilt oven? All the websites I've checked don't have them. Thanks for your help.

Hi I have a La Gemania stove and oven model M9060. The previous owner bought it in 2001. When we moved into the new house, we noticed that the oven door wouldn't close properly. When baking, the heat would get out of the oven and the panel became really hot. What should I do in this case? Replacing hinge or other parts? It seems difficult to get any parts of this product in NZ.

If it is a drop down door with hinges on the bootom of the oven door, then it is likely to be weak door hinge springs, the usual solution is to replace both hinges.
If it is a swing open door, then the problem is related to a worn or broken door catch, or worn striker pin.

Most likely door hinges are weak. i have this video which might help you understand how door closes - springs on the hinges.

Both oven doors do not close properly. lights stay on & can't heat properly with doors not closing tight. is there an adjustment for these doors?

We have similar Jen Air double oven and with the same problem but only on the lower oven. The doors are interchangeable and the top door fits fine but the lower door will not close completely at the top. It does turn out the light but has never cooked properly. I checked with several appliance repair shops and the hinges are not adjustable, but since one door closes and our other doesn't it is not a hinge problem, just a defective design.

We let this go too long and are out of warranty so I doubt Jennair is going to do anything. I hope someone post a solution but it is clearly not problem with the henges but with the receptacle they go into.

Heat escaping, uneven baking, longer cooking times

Either the seals need to be replaced, or you may have weak oven door hinges, and the door is not closing properly.
Only solution would be to replace both hinges if this is the case.

Thankyou.

Thermador oven door won't close all the way - seems like the seal is holding it open. I can press and hold it closed, but if I release, it pops out. The oven light stays on all the time. Model smw272

Have exactly the same situation. All the solutions I have seen talk about replacing the hinges or seal. But people report the same thing happens a month later. Looking hard at the door what it needs is something to pull it right at the top. So I installed a rare earth magnet from www.kjmagnetics.com I used part number BX884DCS which costs $4. It mounts with a couple of screws and I put it on the door a couple of inches down from the top.
Its possible that heat from the oven will kill the magnet over time but for $4 I can replace it for a lot less than hinges and it works great. The door closes more securely than it ever did when the oven was new.
Hope this helps.

Kenmore oven model# 790.79383401 door not closing

Do the hinges come out with the door or does the door slip off the hinges? If the hinges are on the door then there is no adjustment if not there should be an adjustment but you may have to pull the range out to properly adjust if it is a built in range. Also check the door lock.
