This dongle ahould auto detect and auto install. Shut down your PC, plug in the dongle and re-boot. If the dongle is ok, windows will detect it and install the drivers. If you have an early copy of XP, you may have to download and install USB drivers.

Setup cannot find setup.exe. Browse to a valid installation source, and then click OK.

Try opening the CD/DVD in Computer and then double click on the setup icon, this bypasses the auto boot which can sometimes have problems starting. Right click on the DVD drive where the installed media is inserted and then click open, look for the setup application then double click on it and that should hopefully resolve the issue.

Need help formatting new hard drive , Thx in advance Setup steps say "Double-click the Lacie icon in My Computer to get the Lacie Setup Assistant" and that didn't happen .

The LaCie hard drive should have come with a CD. If you pop that CD in, then their directions make more sense:
1: Put in the LaCie CD
2: Double-Click on "My Computer" to open windows explorer
3: right below the "Local Disk (C:)" you should have a LaCie icon for your CD-rom -- double-click this icon for their setup assistant.

If you don't have a CD-ROM, you can still use the drive but it's more involved.

1: right-click on "My Computer" and select the option "Manage"
2: On the left panel of Computer Management, you should have an option "Disk Management" under the heading "Storage" - click on Disk Management
note: The Disk Manager shows your current disks in the top right panel, and ALL disks in the bottom right panel. You might need to resize the window to see them all.
3: In the bottom right panel, find the grey-ed out box that corresponds to your new disk, and right-click on it. One of the options will be to format it.
4: After formatting, if it doesn't automatically come up with a drive letter, you can once again right-click on it in the bottom right panel of the Disk Manager and assign it a drive letter.

Once it has a drive letter, Windows should see the drive and you should be good to go!
