Just got a used vivi4100 camera. Is there a trick to turn it on? Is there a free manual?

Here's an interesting trick to test if the remote has functionality - use the camera function on your phone and aim the remote towards the camera while trying out the buttons. The camera is infra red sensitive and it will appear as a white light on your phone screen if the remote is working.

Put the camera in a change bag open it then manually rewind the film. From there you may be able to free the button. If the button continues to be stuck here is something worth trying that I have seen others do with stuck buttons and aperture blades. To the button add a few drops of lighter fluid let it soak in. Sounds crazy yes, however sometimes that will dissolve gunk buildup freeing the button. That trick works wonders on stuck aperture blades; actually a common practice at repair shops.

This is not a good error to get. It means the lens is stuck. For people where the lens is stuck open, sometimes they fix it by tapping or slapping the lens while turning off. But you say when turning on? You can still try the tapping trick to free what is stuck. It's not very useful advice but it's better than you'll get from the Kodak website

They do, occasionally. Try removing the battery, leaving it out for an hour or so, and then put it back in again. If the manual says that there is a reset use that, but removing the battery usually does the trick.

well i have so far fixed 6 with this trick yours could be 7
Remove the lens and hold it mount down but at a heightwhere you can see the pins. Take a pencil with an eraser on the end and rub the pins, taking car no rubber its get into the mount mkechanism. ( that's why it should be mount down)

Now do the body the same cleaning the pins inside the camera by liughtly rubbing the eraser and taking care not to get any swarf into the camera workings.
Use a vacuum blower or a can of compressed air ( better in case vacuum tube has dust left inside it) and blow both lens and body free of any debris that "might have got into it>
Re assemble, turn on and if you have done it right.. no 99 error.

can of cpomkp-ressed air or compressor access is needed to blow around the lens area.
Smack the camera firmly into the palm of your hand a few times, more air , more slaps. keep checking if it is again free by turning on again, eventually this will free the dirt from the mechanism and it will function again. This trick was passed onto me by a sony tech and they chatge $180 to do just that

My camera stopped working during a wedding. The lens is stuch out, it will power on, but right after turning on, it beeps 3 times, then turns off.

check if remote is working !! heres a trick , using a digital camera facing it at the front of remote (where the LED is ) , while looking thru your screen of camera ,press any button from remote , if you see a blinking light , its working . hope this helps
