You have now reset the counter without replacing the ink absorber. When the ink overflows the print engine will be ruined. You should be proud of yourself for helping to ruin this printer and also the costomer's furniture.
You need a paper towel and a cotton bud. When the printer is off open up the top cover, roll up the paper towel tightly and then, using the cotton bud, press it into the foam waste pad where it is wet with ink. Move the towel along until you have soaked as much ink into it as you can. Repeat until you can no longer soak a complete towel. You should do this whenever you carry out the reset procedure.
SOURCE: How to reset epson stylus d120 waste ink counter?
You don't want to reset the waste ink counter unless you have removed all of the waste ink. Unless you feel like totally dismantling your printer and hand washing the felt pads that are currently soaked in ink you'll probably want to have it serviced professionally or just replace it. Most times replacement is less expensive. Resetting the waste ink counter without cleaning out the waste ink can, and likely will, result in waste ink eventually overflowing out of the the bottom of your machine. Be cautious.
