Stanby light blinks four times stops then four again.will turn on for a second then goes to stanby and does the above. I have disconnected it for a couple of hours and that did not work.

That error code represents a fan has stopped turning. There are 4 fans. A lamp cooling fan, a lamp ballast fan, a digital board fan, and a light engine fan(internal to light engine--not visible.)

Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.

how many times does it flash? The back of the manual will usually tell you what the flashes mean. Try this: unplug tv from power. While unplugged, hold the power button in on the TV, not on the remote! Hold for 10 seconds. Replug the power and try to power it up. If you get no picture, you need a repair. Common short the cover cap over the video & sound boards short out if you remove it the cap only (shield metal) it usually will fix this

FOUR Blinks---No Vert. Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. check the vertical deflection IC and circuit

How many times does the light blink. It should blink a code 1-8 blinks pause a second then blink the code again. Count the blinks then let me know. If it just blinks constantly without pausing. let me know that as well.

You will need to replace your bulb.
It costs around $ 300.00 for a new bulb.
After you have installed it, your TV will look new once again.
