SOURCE: RESETING INK LEVELS???

We recently purchased and installed an HP Compaq presario, and now we don't get the printing display in the lower right corner that would indicate the task in progress with page of page, number of pages and...ink levels. Also we can't cancel a project in 'mid-print' without turning the printer off and on again/

SOURCE: the ink system has failed

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: hp 920 xl ink cartridge filling instructions anyone have them

I used the drill method in the video. Took a while to get it printing again but so far, so good. THe low ink light went out so the pritner thinks the cartridge ink level went up as it did.
Will post again if it breaks.

SOURCE: HOW TO RESET 920 INK

FYI, you cannot reset the ink it self. If your using an HP refilled ink cartridge the warranty of your printer will be void. you need to contact HP right away to purchase new ink cartridges.
If the cartridge has been refilled or remanufactured, 'Low on Ink' or 'Ink Alert' messages may be inaccurate or display incorrectly.

These cartridges can dry up. You can take a tissue and make an impression on the tissue. This will tell you if the cartridge is dryed up or not

Reset hp 920 ink cartridge

you can reset the hp 940 cartridge very easily by following these steps as under.. 1.. just take and insert the cartridges in the cartridge holders gently and softly until you hear the clicking sound 2.. just reset your printer and then start the recycling process so that the printer refreshes the cartridges. 3. Press the OK button on the printer and hold it for 5 to 6 seconds, and at the same time when you are holding the OK button press the red stop button also while holding it till the LCD gets refreshed

I just refilled my HP6500 ink cartridge 920. The ink level indicator still shows a low level of ink. How do I reset the ink indicator.

There is no way to reset the ink levels on this cartridge type yet. Any replacement chips on the internet are violating patent law. Once the chip tells the printer it is empty it will not print no matter how much ink is left in it. There is always a lag time between the introduction of a new cartridge type and the ability to fill it properly. For refills I would recommend Cartridge World when this cartridge type can be refilled.

Hp 6500 office jet refill

to refill 920:

1. If you have the plastic cap that covers the 9 mm. hole where you can see the sponge, then tape this cap to the cartidge with scotch tape. If not, use some duct/masking tape to cover the round hole.

2. Use the dry hypodermic needle to find the hole that will be found at the very center of the 920 label. With the needle, pierce the label.

3. Fill the hypodermic needle with 4 cc of ink.

4. Insert the needle 2-3 cm. into the hole made in step 2. Draw out 1 cc of air, then slowly force the 4 cc of ink into the sponge. Use toilet tissue to absorb any ink that might have escaped.

5. Let the catridge stand overnight (if possible) so as to allow the ink to evenly saturate the sponge. If not, insert it into your printer immediately.

Note: If you are going to refill catridges, be certain not to allow the sponge to dry completely. Thus, you might want to do step one immediately and to enclose it in a sealed sandwich bag upon removing an empty catridge from your printer even if you are not going to fill it immediately.
