Usb with nothing on it yet decreasing space?

I have a 2 gb removable usb drive and I don't have anything on it, yet it says I have zero space available? I have no idea when this started but it seems like every time I try and copy things or move them to trash the space on the usb keeps going down, its very weird. Now I have absolutely nothing that shows up on my usb and it says I have only 66kbs left, how is this possible, what can I do?

Well answering first part of your problem is quite lengthy. In short its a virus. In order to retrieve your pen with its original capacity you are required to take your pen to a linux machine. since the virus on your pen is exe and no exe runs on linux without wine software. hence, if you format your pen on linux machine though mkfs2 command your pen will be cleaned. but the virus will remain there on your windows machine.

D: is full. How to make it free.

30GB is nothing now a days. It may be time to expand, with an external USB drive. You can now get drives for as low as .10 cents per GB. Meaning a 500GB is around $50 bucks. A nice one with no external power more like .15 a GB making 500GB about $75.

I've met space limit for my SimpleTech external drive even though my internal drive still has space and both are 250 GB. Are there SimpleTech programs taking up space and if so how much of that 250 GB...

Your internal drive is different than your external drive. If you put more files onto your SimpleTech drive, then that one is going to fill up faster. The best thing to do would be to go through your SimpleTech drive and delete anything that you don't need. I don't remember my SimpleTech drive coming with any software on the drive, but if it did, it didn't take up much space.

My kinston pen drive reads zero bytes

Hi sirmac,

If formatting doesn't clear up the problem then it just needs to be replaced. Contact Kingston Tech Support for a replacement.
