Installation problem with hp 05280 printer

C5280 Will not go beyond 96% After USB plug in (on instruction)


But, I do have connection, somehow.


Problem. Printer disconnects on some windows updates, which have to be taken out by System restore. Printer then reconnects.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall at least a dozen times. Have tried from disc and other means. After uninstall is done I can still print documents. I try and reinstall from disc and message states a newer version already installed. I downloaded from HP and reinstall and stops at 96%. Can print and scan from printer. Unable to scan from computer. Solution center is not available and does not show up in program menu. I have contacted HP Support at least a dozen times. I have installed more memory. USB ports have been reinstalled.
HP C5280 All-inOne 6 months and still under warranty. I feel I will have to replace with another brand, even though I like this one.

instaaling through windows (vista) goes automatic (finds drivers on cd) installing extra hp-programm from cd give fatal-error each and every time. The best solution from Juve83 does not solve anything other than asking the question about windows version. I have windows XP and I have the same problem when installing drivers for HP Photosmart 5280. None of the applications recognise the existance of the printer but I can print a Test Page using HP Solution Center. A great product I wont recommend to anyone.
