"10 MB of free space is required" when I have 500 MB space

Whenever I open my player, it displays the message "10 MB of free space is required for normal operation." and then shuts down. I have 500 MB of free space. Is there a problem with the SYSTEM files? I think I might have accidentally deleted some SYSTEM files from the player.

When i try to click on pc icon on desktop nothing happens. tried reinstall, it still wont open songbird

There are some system requirements for Songbird. You need a windows based computer with atleast 1GB Ram, 500 MB or more free space and operating system XP or higher.

If you meet those requirements then the problem could be with the songbird software. I'd suggest that you uninstall it completely, download a latest version from Philips site, install it and restart your computer.

Here is the link to download a latest version:

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?tmplt=ePlatform%20-%20Philips&scy=US&slg=AEN&sct=FLASH_AUDIO_PLAYER_SU&cat=MP3_MEDIA_PLAYERS_CA&session=20110318030534_121.241.4.111&grp=SOUND_AND_VISION_GR&ctn=SA2VBE04KW/17&mid=Link_Software&hlt=Link_Software

Hope this helps..

Profiling requires 4mb free space; reformat required

1. Disconnect the player.

2. Download the new driver from http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/

3. Install the software on your computer, then run it.

4. Reset your player by either pressing the reset button or removing the AA-battery from the player.

5. While holding down the "Play" key on your player, connect it to the PC via the USB cable. Release the "Play" key when you see the progress bar moving and "initializing" text. If you cannot see the "initializing" text, please disconnect your player and try again.

6. Click the "Start" button to upgrade your player

"formatting problem"

I had a similar problem, I could upload songs, but they wouldn't play and I couldn't delete them. turned out it was cause I didn't have WMP10 installed on my PC, had an older version. the user manual states it only works with WMP10, and after I installed it (just search for windows media player 10 on the microsoft website) I was able to use the synch function in WMP10 and all the songs are playable (I'm listening to an album as I type :D)
