Here is a tip that I wrote to give details about why your cooktop will notspark to light the burners..

Take a q-tip and clean under where it clicks. Might have food or grease covering release hole.

Brand new means you have a warranty, get the service agent to check.
I have found that you can easily place the wrong burner cap on the incorrect burner ring(the smaller burner caps).
Could also be dirt or water in burner ring or the burner jet(use needle to clear jet).
Are sparks coming from all ignitors? You might have damaged the spark plug.

if if does not light anymore you have a ignition sequence fault could be a faulty switch foe the ignition pcb ht lead or electrodes

We called in an appliance repair technician. He said during the cleaning process of the cooktop, when the control knobs had been removed to thoroughly clean the cooktop, some cleaning fluid or water or moisture got into the ignition switch panel under the cooktop. Letting it dry for 24 hours should fix the problem and this appears to have done that.

try easing each knob upwards a bit.

take a small needle to the inside, and clean the orafice, see if it helps

We have an older Thermador Gas Cooktop type range. It was working fine until the cleaning crew came in, then all the burner igniters were clicking when turning on a single burner. I solved the problem by cleaning off the igniters. I first of course unplugged the power. Then I took a small wire telcom pic tool to scrape the white and brown deposits from the sides of the igniters. You could probably use something else similiar to do the scraping. I noticed a shiny surface underneath. I then went ahead and scraped and brushed clean the mating surface where the spark travels. I then vacuumed up the mess. My burners all worked great after this. problem with hob is probably water ingress in area of ignition unit - will probably cure itself oven is a completely separate unit from hob. problem with it is that you have to re-set the clock - you have it on automatic. after power outage, oven clock always has to be reset
