Driver I recently purchased a transcend storejet 2.5 80GB HDD but the installation cd does not have a driver for Windows ME. Am hoping you guys can help me out.

If you are using a USB Hub, try not using the hub.

Hi. Please try formatting again but from another computer. Also it can be a virus or malware try scanning it with antimalwarebytes and and your antivirus software i recommend avast free version. If you can't open it you might have erased the drivers needed to access the gadget try re installing them you can download them from the manufacturer official page or sometimes they come with a cd when you purchased the HDD. Hope it helps

first install windows again with Service pack 3 and try it its working and change your HDD USB Cable.

It is DEFECTIVE. Take it back to where you bought it, and get it repaired/replaced, under warranty.

click here Click on above link select your model and download driver then install. Also follow below. First make sure usb cable connected to harddrive is working fine. try it in different usb ports. Press windows key +R key so you can see run then type in run "devmgmt.msc" then press ok so you can see device manager uninstall all usb drivers then it automatic install usb drivers. then check. Also you need to change registry for that type in run "regedit" then press ok then you can see registry editor then locate below key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11 CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} And remove upper filter and lower filter.Then restart computer then check. u may got installation cd for storage device.if not download software from www.transcend.uk  ......... otherwise try for this..

goto control panel...
then goto add hardware...
overthere check out for connectivity

If the device is not identified,
you insert the driver CD and install the driver.
Now unplug and plug in the USB cable.
Now your device will be identified and will be connected to the computer.
