BIG PROBLEM i just bought a new samsung ps-50p91fd plasma tv and the whilst turned on the screen remains blank and there's a screeching sound. how do i fix it?

Search online for "how to turn off the energy gauge" for your tv.

You didn't say what type tv, LCD,LED< Plasma, projector, all have power supplies that supply the screens, sounds like you have a component failing . Most all tv's are throw away when they go bad. Friend bought big LED when they came out, two trips by factory repairmen couldn't fix it.

If the screen is cracked, the set is no longer any good.
Since a screen replacement is usually as much as a new TV, you might as well use your money for a new TV.

First thing you should do is unplug the unit from the AC outlet and wait 5 minutes before pluging it back in. IF this does not solve your problem, then you should the unit serviced. The most common failure part in plasma's are the y-substain board and the power supply, have these check for shorted conditions.

No,not worth as a whole tv anymore,because by replacing the Plasma screen panel,will cost the same as a new tv.Because the screen panels are limited produced by the tvs corporations.The tv now olny worth as a salvages for electronic board for parts only now.

This looks as if a component has become thermally sensitive. The best way to find this is to use component cooling spray. It looks as if the problem is localized to the tuner section. Take the back off of the TV and turn the TV on, wait until the problem occurs and lightly spray the tuner section with the component cooling spray watch for any reaction, then if this does not work spray the Microprocessor and the LVDS section and watch for a reaction. The set should go back to normal when it does that section is the problem, try to localize the problem to one component. Then replace that component.

i have a samsung LCD tv 32 inch tv. when switched on the pic is seen for about one sec then goes off. when i change channels the audio changes but the screen is blank. every time i switch off and on the same thing is repeated there is no display on the screen looks like a back screen light fail . can the problem be sorted out by changing the inverter or the whole LCD panel needs to be changed? pl be free to answer.
