Western Digital Passport WDXML800UE (WDXML800UETE) 80 GB Hard Drive Logo
Anonymous Posted on Apr 09, 2010

It seems I have just deleted the wrong PST file from my hard drive (and emptied my recycle bin). So I am trying to recover my last saved Outlook.PST file from my passport, and I'm at a loss of exactly what to do. I've never had to do this before. Please help! Pam

I was just chatting with someone live and was disconnected. I paid $19.99, for the session that lasted less than 3 minutes, and I never got an answer. How do I get back to the chat session with my 'GURU'?

You need recovery software.
Look online for Active recovery or Ontrack. I am not sure if you will have to buy the software to do the recovery, but, you can test the process and see if the file is recoverable without paying for it.
Ontrack is easier to use.

    What happened when it disconnected?
Did your computer drop the chat or did FixYa agent drop?
If a FixYa agent chat drops, it should be picked back up by another if you stay online.

I would say, contact FixYa to get this fee resolved.

In the meantime, I have checked an external drive I have and found that it holds a folder called recycled.
Inside this folder are the files I deleted from the external drive.

So, I would suggest that you attach your Western Digital drive and look for the folder name Recycled.
If you do not see it, change the folder view options under the tools menu in Windows explorer to include hidden and system folders.
    Comment back for more help.
I will be checking this post.

Hi pamelagreb, You can communicate further with kennethrcalh via the Chat transcript. Please click on My Profile either by using this link or by clicking on the link in the upper right of this page. Then locate your Chat with kennethrcalh and click on the title to view the transcript. There will be a link at the bottom of the page that says "Post a comment for kennethrcalh". If you post something there, Kenneth will be notified (and vice versa when he responds), and the two of you can continue communicating through the transcript. Please feel free to contact our Support Team directly at: http://www.fixya.com/contact
