Can you tell me how to replace the bin flap on a Dyson DC07?

Please can you tell me how to replace the bin flap on a Dyson DC07? I have managed to remove the cracked one and am having great difficulty trying to put the new one in place! I am concerned that the plastic will break. Hope you can help. Kind regards, Pat.

Hi there, its Darran at Dyson here.

The plastic is quite flexible, you should be able to locate the bin base into one of the lugs on one side of the bin and then twist it slightly to locate the other lug.

If you are still having problems, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards
Darran

I have a Dyson DC07 upright vacuum I emptied the cylinder and the bottom lid fell off not sure how to reattach in case it breaks - any clues?

It has two little pegs that hold it onto the perspex cylinder. Really, it shouldn't fall off during normal use. Check one of the little pegs hasn't broken off. If it has, you need to replace the bin flap. If the pegs are OK, check the two mounting holes on the perspex cylinder. If you need to replace either, you can get them from here: http://manchestervacs.co.uk/Dyson/DC07-spares.html as Dyson will not sell you cylinder components but those guys will.

I have a dyson dc07 bagless vacuum cleaner. How do I split the top and bottom halves of the dust collection bin? There is a lever and catch on the side, I have tried pulling and turning, but with no...

Hi at the top of the Cyclone there is a lever underneath the Handle. The Handle I am referring to says Dyson on it. Firstly you must release the Cyclone from the spine. After doing this you will be left with the Cyclone and the Cyclone Bin all in a oner.

To empty the bin you must lift the lever which is underneath the Dyson handle.

You can only seperate the bin from the cyclone whilst the bin flap is open.

Once you have opened the bin flap using the lever you can then use the lever and catch to seperate the 2 items.

Sometimes it gets stuck to the side, or just held in place by gravity. This does not affect performance.

My dyson dc07 seems to take awhile to build proper suction... is this normal?

no it should pick up as soon as you turn it on, make sure the brush is turning if it is then turn the unit off, make sure the the washable filter is clean and the the bin filter is also clean, if this does not work then there one more thing if you can try, remove the bin from the unit release the bin flap and with a torch look down the end of the cyclone you might find a large blockage this vry common in the dc07 hope this helps

Dyson DC07 Clear Bin Flap will not release

I just received my replacement root cyclone in the mail today after waiting in the back-ordered status for three months. I positioned a butter knife in between the rubber gasket on the bottom flap lid and the bottom rim of the clear bin at the farthest point from the hinge and slowly and gently wiggled the knife between until the bottom flap just fell open. I examined the rubber gasket and it survived without injury and the bottom flap seals without any gaps...good luck
