Remove the oven racks, in back there will be two chrome screws, remove them. Lift the lower oven panel out by pulling up from the rear. Remove the screws holding the flame spreader and remove the flame spreader. Now you will see the burner and igniter attached to it. There are 2 quarter inch hex screws holding the ignitor on. GE likes to put them on an angle, so it is easier to remove the burner tube. Remove the bottom drawer and remove the screws securing the burner to the back wall. There should be one in the front too. The burner will now lift up and you can get at the screws. The new ignitor should come with ceramic wire nuts. Just cut the old igniter, strip the ends of the wires going to it and wire nut the new one on. Reverse the rest of the steps. There is also a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html that walks you thru testing this part. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations.

How can i get an owners manual?

Good Afternoon Friend, this is Z. I am happy to assist you!

I see that your question is listed under Frigidaire Gas Single Oven (FGB24S5A) and that you are looking for the manual. I have successfully located the Owner's Guide. However, if you need a different manual, please provide me your model number. You can typically locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the front of the oven, on the left side, as you open the door on a wall oven. If you have a range, you may find the tag in the storage drawer, on the right side. Hope this helps!

Igniter comes on but gas won't light

It should glow almost a bright white. If its just an orange glow then replace the ignitor. Its probably just weak. If its weak it will not allow enough current to flow through it to open the gas valve. Good luck _MJ_

Hello when i put my temp for my gas stove on say 350, the pilot is glowing but it doesnt seem to flame/heat up, and i get a somewhat odor of gas, could the therometer need replacing or maybe the ignition...

Your glowbar ignitor part must be replaced, Unplug the range and turn off the gas. Remove yje oven racks, The oven base pan. Then remove the flame spreader. You will see the glowbar ignitor attached to the side of the bake burner. Remove it and replace it with a new ignitor. Replace all the range parts.Turn on the power and turn on the gas supply.

Copy and paste this site for the location of the ignitor you can also purchase the part from them.

Our Frigidaire 24 in wall oven won't light. The igniter glows but there appears to not be any gas present.

The ignitor is weak and needs to be replaced. You can not tell by looking at it. You have to measure the amp draw through the ignitor.

I need to change my oven ignitor and I need a diagram to show where it is located. I have a Frigidaire model FGF353BADB. Free standing gas stove/oven.

Here's a diagram of the oven along with the Oven Ignitor (Part #19 on the diagram) and the Broiler Ignitor, (Part #26 on the diagram). They are located behind the gas deflectors located at the top and bottom inside the oven compartment, accessible from inside the oven, but you'll need to remove the rear panel at the outside back of the stove to disconnect the terminals tha supply voltage to the ignitors.

Be sure to turn the breaker off and/or unplug the range from the 220V-AC outlet first.

Hope this helps you complete your repair. Best Regards!

Igniter glows but oven wiil not fire up

Your thermocouple needs replacement. Its the thin tube next to the pilot, it runs alway back to the gas control valve. When it fails the gas valve won't allow the gas to flow. Turn the gass off before begining repairs, and NO OPEN FLAMES OR SMOKING!

Frigidaire Gas Oven

The igniter needs to be replaced. I had the exact same thing happen to my oven. The igniter would glow, but after tested, it did not have enough amperage to actually ignite the gas, so the gas kept running with no ignition. You can get a replacement at an appliance parts store. If you have a friend or relative who is a heating/air conditioning repairperson they can test your current igniter. Good luck!
