I have an Zebra ZM400. The ribon is sliping to the right side of the printer. As a result, the position of the output is getting right. What can I do about it?
This is happening immediately, or over time? Do you notice it creeping, or is it on one print, then 100% off the next? When you open it up, and put the ribbon back on, is there a locking mechanism for the print head that is not fully engaging?>This is happening immediately, or over time? This is usually caused by a pressure imbalance across the printhead. Check the printhead pressure adjust dials located on top of the printhead. You might find that the left side has more down pressure than the right side causing the ribbon to move to the right.

The "ribon in" warning is because you set the printer to print DIRECT THERMAL insted THERMAL TRANSFER. The first mode is for printing directly on the thermal labels, not for using a ribon. The ribon sensor detects that a ribon is pressent and you get this message. You need to change the printing mode to Thermal Transfer from the printer Setup Menu, or from the Print Driver instaled on PC.
there is a possibility that you need to just the print head assembly, if when its at close position, the print head is far from the sensor.
With the print head is open, you will see 3 screw on the left, louse them and adjust all the print head mechanism, up and down some milliliters tie the screws again, close the printhead , try again and see if errors desapeer
make sure you have no network traffic for your printer and decrease the printing speed, and make sure you are using a free port not a used and default port for the service..
check the sensor under the paper, reload labels roll, labels are possible on top of sensor black plastic and not between. move gap sensor to midle of label with. check manual to know how to fit the labels thought the sensors and printhead.
Print configuration from both printers and compare. Print config- Hold cancel button 10 sec. while power on. Check Resolution parameter. 203dpi=8MM Full , 300dpi=12MM Full. Sounds like perhaps they are different dpi.
Download the ZM400/600 Quick Reference Guide on the right hand side of the page. They have a diagram on how to load labels. There should also be one inside the printer - printed on the back wall...
Try going through the LCD menu and if it say "Direct Thermal" change it to "Thermal Transfer", Direct Thermal made means, no ribbon required, but it sounds like you do have ribbon in the printer, if so, try my recommendation. If it asks for a password, it's '1234'.
