PLace the document to scan facing down onto the canning glass. Open the scanning application installed on your computer (If you dont have the apploication, install it with the CD that you would have recieved with the product). Then follow the instructions and then save the scanned document as desired.

How do I scan negatives?

You can try scanning negatives the same way you scan prints, but the results may not be great. Scanners that are designed to scan negatives usually have some way to put light behind the negative to make sure it scans with enough contrast. They often also come with special holders for negatives. I don't know if your model was specifically meant to do negatives, but you can't hurt anything by trying.

After you scan a negative you need to convert it to a positive. The scanner may have come with software that can do this. If not, IrfanView is a free program that can do that as well as much more. It's a great general-purpose image viewer, so it's worth downloading in any case.

Hi There I have a 1997, 2.6 Audi A4 i have a message that comes up when i start the car, it says (in 2) in my odometer. what does this mean? Also i am having a problem with acceleration as well, it...

The ( In 2) means that you need to have the computer scanned for fault codes . The scan will tell you what the problem in with your acceleration. It is best to have the scan done rather than guessing what the problem is. From my own experience one can spend alot of money needlessly guessing and changing parts that are actually OK.

What does the light that looks like transmission mean when it is on in 4x4 2005 f150

Do you mean this one ? :
d2ffb47.jpg

If this is what you are talking about, this is the Service Engine Soon / Check Engine indicator.
Means there is a Diagnostic Trouble Code ( DTC ) set, and something is wrong. Need to get a code scanner hooked up to it, and get the actual code number to figure it out.
Autozone and the likes will usually scan codes for free, just get the number, not what they think is wrong ( the default answer seems to be O2 sensors )

How can I scan a document then print it with larger print?

You can scan a document or photo or negative film etc.. using a scanner, there a many types of scanners which you can choose as per your requirement. There are dedicated scanners, all in one integrated scanners, or two in one like that.. but if you need it for your professional use or daily use, it's better to get a dedicated scanner not "all in one" since with all in one if the copier fails or fax fails, the scanner will also fail because they are related and built-in integrated.
The process of scanning a document is as follows;
  • > Place the document on the scanner's flatbed.
  • > Press scan button or scan using the integrated software from the computer.
  • > Customize the scan settings/quality.
  • > Save the scanned documents.
Printing a document to a larger size is different, you can use photo editors like photoshop, paint.net etc..where you can changed the resolution as well as the size of the image. It's best to change the size or resolution before you give the print command. Or you can also change the print size with the paper size or print size.
If you still need more help, please let me know with more details. I am ready to assist you.

Good luck.

My mfc240c says to replace the yellow ink cartridge but I don't want to spend money on that if the 'light bulb' is ruined. When I turn on the machine, I don't see any light for scanning or copying. ...

By the "light bulb," do you mean the scanner lamp? That lamp should only turn on when you are actually scanning, faxing, or copying a document. You should be able to still use the machine to scan and fax, even with the yellow ink empty. Try scanning a document to see if the scanner lamp comes on.

As far as printing or copying goes, you won't be able to print or copy anything until you replace the yellow ink, even if you try printing in black and white only.

I WANT TO KNOW THE MEAN OF ''ERROR 06'' IN HP SCANJET 8270 AND THE POSIBLE SOLUTIONS... THANKS

If LCD displays Error 06 or Error 09 , the TMA might require service
Press SCAN PICTUREc00068011.jpg button once (see Figure 3 above). The TMA lamp should turn on (see Figure 4 above). If pressed a second time, the TMA lamp turns off (if TMA is detected). NOTE: The scanner carriage lamp should be off when the TMA lamp is on and should be on when the TMA lamp is off. The only time the TMA could not be detected is if the accessory cable is not plugged into scanner

Unlock scanner hardware?

I have the same scanner, which has now died due to electrical problems. This was the most posted issue people had with this model of scanner. The problem had come from the issue that the software was never truely adapted for the model. The Visioneer 5800 scanner had a hardware lock on the bottom. When they put out the (advanced) model 5820, the lock on the bottom was seen as pointless, so it was removed, but the software was NEVER adapted for it, except for the original Win98 version. Any version since, has the flaw of requesting the hardware lock being removed. The only way I have found that actually gets around it is this: You have to remove the screw(s) that hold the scanner body to the base, then either put them away in a forgettable box somewhere, or do as I eventually did... toss them in the round file. Now, are you ready for this?.... When the scanner asks the question about the hardware lock, you have to gently pull out on the front lip of the scanner, and lift the main body from the base. Now GENTLY, so as not to destroy anything inside.... You must pull the advance belt so that the scannung bar moves foreward about an inch. NOW, close it up carefully. Now when you ask for a scan, it should work.... I was quite amazed when I first read this solution, but it worked for me for many years of scanning with this machine, and a very good scanner it was, too! Now, if you don't want to do this over and over, and over again... here is the secret that kept me sane (except for when the power went out, and I had to do it again occasionally.) When you scan, use the Passport software, and pull up the twain to scan.... go about your business as usual, BUT!!!, when you finish scanning, close down the scan preview popup FIRST. Then close down the Passport software. IF YOU DO NOT CLOSE THE SCAN WINDOW FIRST, YOU WILL HAVE TO LIFT THE SCANNER LID AGAIN and over, and over, etc. Now, print this before you start unscrewing anything, as it is rather involved. Good Luck! BScott
