Tv freezes white and black negative image

TV works for about 30mins and then freezes in a black and white negative image. I can not turn off unless I unplug the tv. It will start back up and work for a short period of time. I just replaced the bulb and it seem to work for two days. Please advise...reading the forums it sounds like I have an issue with the degital board?

I have the HLN507W which is basically the same TV. I am having the exact same problem. Not under warranty. New lamp does not fix it either. How does a digital board go bad if you have an expensive surge protector?

My HLN5065W started freezing after a short time of being on. This started one week after the warranty expired. I am an electronics tech and could work on it myself if I had schematics. If not I would like to be sure I have the correct part number for the board so I can replace it. Maybe I can do a visual check to see where the small charge went off to take it out right after the warranty expired.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, it has been a great TV and we would like to fix it for less than the cost of a new TV.

Remove back cover (14 screws)
As viewed from back, Right side, small fan
Clean fan, blow out lint between components.
Problem is over heating caused by fan not supplying enough air.
Problem solved
Component causing problem should have a added heat sink, to improve cooling.
Mfg should have a corrective action on this problem and defining component.

Yes the digital board is the culprit. I need the complete model number so I can get you the correct part number. On the right hand side of the TV is a sticker with the model/serial and sometimes a version number. Get me all those and I will look up the part number.

While streaming Netflix from my laptop (via S cable) to my RCA TV, the image on the TV is black & white. Whether streaming or not, when I hook up my laptop to the TV, the desktop image on my laptop...

If the cable is damaged then one of the pins can be bent inside or if it unscrews a solder connection may be undone. see the photo showing color on the left and bw on the right. Also plug everything in turn off everything then turn on the computer and then turn on tv. also try just opposite turn on tv and reboot computer.

Lately the tv displays a b&w negative image instead of color. Unplugging and replugging the TiVo T800 (and waiting for the reboot) fixes the problem for awhile. Any ideas?

Strange. Are you sure it's the TiVo at fault? I'm thinking when you turn off the unit and back on again you're actually forcing your TV/Monitor into the correct input. When it next goes into black and white, try selecting different TV AV inputs, normally a square or circle with an arrow in it on the remote control.
If this fixes it, I'd suggest that you have another piece of equipment connected to your TV that's fighting for control.

TV screen went negative. Brand new TV

I would use the warranty for this problem. The part that need to be replaced can be somewhat expensive.
With the credit card statement, you can use that as a receipt.

Negative image and then black and won't turn off!

The negative image on the screen is the DMD board (Digital Mirror Board). The cycle sound is the color wheel trying to spin but if the DMD board is going bad, it will effect the color wheel and not spin. There for your image will freeze.

Picture freezes Black/White

It's most likely the digital board, Samsung p/n# Bp94-00385a but I'd trace test both the digital and analog first before blindly replacing it - too costly to just guess..
