For the extra buttons to work you will need to install the software that came with the keyboard. If none was provided the instructions will usually tell you a website to get them from.

After the proper drivers / software is installed, the extra function keys should work. If not the keyboard may be defective, or issues beyond the scope of this question may exist such as virus or other interference.

Spacebar on my Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 is sticking in the down position.

Take out the space bar button and change the position of the "sway bar" shown in http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/MS-Natural-Ergo-Keyboard-Sticky-Spacebar-Fix/index.html

There are 3 positions you can keep the sway bar - The middle positions worked for me and probably will work for you too.

Sorry to hear that your do not have a matching receiver for this set.
The type of transmitter in this set is not compatible with just any actually its programed just for that keyboard mouse combo, However have you tried ebay.com?

See the transmitter in this unit is not like any remote control type of thing so what your thinking of will not work. You could call microsoft with a part number of ther set and see if they could get you a replacement but there is no gaurentee's.

My dog knocked over my Compaq keyboard. Now the divided spacebar is opposite what it should be. Instead of spacing on the right spacebar I have to hit the left side. How do I fix this?

Pull the space bar off by using your fingers. Underneath, you'll find a metal rod. Take note on which way it is facing, and how it fits. Make sure nothing in broken under the space bar, then put the space bar back on making sure it hooks in correctly.

I lost my instructions for installing my MS wireless laser desktop 4000 keyboard/mouse. The Intellitype software has been installed but I'm not sure what the next steps are to get my keyboard/mouse...

Replacing the space bar

The bottons on the keyboard can be removed and replaced. I'm sure there are any number of parts available if you've some how lost your space bar entirely. Might be easier to just replace the keyboard though.

you can order new keyboards for 20-35 dollars offlineand its a simple procces all you need is a small screwdriver (phillips) and about 5-15 minutes depends on how familiar you are with your hardware shoot me an email at [email protected] and ill send some pictures guiding you if you want

Acer laptop spacebar fell off

The space bar key is connected tothe keyboard a little bit differently then any other key.

There is a metal retainer connectedto the space bar key (on some keyboard models). Separate the retainer from thespace bar key with a flathead screwdriver.

Install the retainer back inplace as it shown on the picture. You have to engage the retainer with thesmall hooks on the keyboard.

Put the space bar key back inplace and gently press on it with fingers until it snaps back in place.

That’s it. The space bar key isinstalled back in place and should work as before. If you still cannot fix yourkeyboard, then you’ll have to find a new oneand replace it.
Pleas rate my solution on fixya if you are done.

In regards to getting replacement parts for a keyboard they really do not make those as they are cheap and most people just replace the keyboard when it breaks.

However yoou might try looking on sites like ebay to see if someone is selling a broken one for parts.
