Not owning the specific model, I can't be sure, but I believe there is no button rather there is a place in the menu that should reset all of the defaults if it is similar to mine, if you can't find it let me know and I will try and figure it out for you

Hold down the menu bottom for about 20-30 secs. Should power back on.

SanDisk logo appears when stated then screen goes to grey and black. All appears to be frozen.

Sansa E280 will no longer shuffle music.
Try this �� Reset All
NOTE: THIS IS AN ADVANCED OPERATION AND RESTORES ALL SETTINGS
TO THE FACTORY DEFAULTS. NORMAL USERS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED
TO PERFORM THIS OPERATION!
If your device freezes up press the Menu button and hold for 15 seconds.
This is like a power down of the device. Once you perform the reset, the adjustments you made during last operation
will be gone.
Did you try to update your sansa click on link and download install run connect sansa when asked.

Sansa e280 not starting
Try pushing and holding the power button down for a minute, this may reset it, if not take out the battery from the back via 4 small phillips screws, and keep it out for at least 30 seconds than put it back and see what happens, these are replacable if needed from Amazon for short money.

New sansa e280 frozen!
Press the Menu button for about 20 seconds and it will turn off. Try restarting it.

If that doesn't work, download the firmware from Sandisk's site. Flick the hold switch over, press the record button, and plug it into your computer. That will start recovery mode. Open the firmware and install it.
