I have a x223w no sound - Acer AL1917W LCD Monitor

Your previous monitor had built-in speakers. The Aces LCD monitor do not have built-in speakers, therefore you need to purchase external speakers and plug these into your computer.

Acer X223W does not have built-in speakers. There are three ports on the back: 1 AC input port, 2 video input ports (DVI and VGA).

restart your computer and enter setup... find the one that youve longing for and disable that

ACER X223W have no speakers build in. You must use exstra speakers or a headset.

Yes, you do. You need an stereo audio cable. It will have a connector like found on portable headphones on each end.There should be a recepticle for it on your monitor, usually marked light green. This cable would then connect to your computer's audio output. Although, I don't think your monitor has speakers.

You would only need that cable if the other end requires a VGA end. Happy Holidays

This is not a sound monitor, it does NOT have built in speakers. You need to have external speakers that plug into the audio jack in the back of your motherboard.

If this monitor did have sound, then you do NOT use an additional cable, you do not use DVI and HDMI at the same time.

HDMI is for graphics and sound, and you also need a graphics card that has a HDMI port to buy a monitor with sound, or you can't use it.

Monitors do not need drivers, most all OS, Windows have a monitor driver and there is no better monitor driver then the one in windows.

The drivers for sound come from the graphics card that has HDMI.
