Have to replace two new toilets seats, the seats move

When you set on the toilet the seat moves to the left and feels like you are going to fall.Had repair mancome back out and said I would have to buy two new seats cause there is no adjustment to tighten the seats so they won't move, I don't think I should have to replace the seats at my expense. Is there any one who can help me with this problem.Again they are Jacuzzi Era Elongated seats. Thanks , Martin Sims

I have both a Jacuzzi Era and Perfecta with a bidet appliance attached to the Perfecta and now the Era. The Jacuzzi Perfecta seat broke within a week because of the stress on the hinges from the bidet appliance. I purchased a better quality slow-close seat and there has been no further problems. I also purchased a slow-close seat for the new Era and so far it is fine.

Our Perfecta can flush golf balls, the Era is a bit slower and have not really broken it in yet. Our plumbing contractor advised to always use a reinforced wax ring, not the "junk" that comes in the kit. These toilets have a glazed bowl that helps keep them clean. I believe the tank has to be as level as possible which affects the power of the flush.

The Era is a classy looking toilet. The pics do not do it justice. If anyone needs a new Era toilet seat, I have mine listed on eBay, new in box.

Hope this helps.

Martin, Jacuzzi has a one year warranty on toilet seats so if you have defective seats and they were purchased less than a year it is covered you will have to find a dealer near you, I provided a link for you to accomplish this. How is the seat attached? There should be two plastic screws with a nut on the underside which can be tightened these tend to loosen and nee re-tightening every so often. I hope this has helped. Thanks for using FIXYA, good luck and have a great day. Jeff

How to keep an elongated toilet seat in place

If you mean that it moves about a bit ..... if you go on ebay you can obtain toilet seat retaining plastic nuts , they are quite wide and do offer a bit of grip. I have put rubber washers on the seat screw first, then some wide metal washers to compress the rubber washers and produce some friction ....then I have used the wide replacement nuts to tighten the assemlage of bits so they are applying some force and keepin the seat in place

worked for me and my daughtert so may work for you
You just need to produce sufficient friction to stop it moving

Replacement seat....size???

American Standard is the brand, so you've got a start there, but 1.6 is a flush measurement. Look around the inside for a tank for a model number - with AmStan toilets it's usually a four digit number beginning with a 2 or a 4. This will be what you need to get the OEM toilet seat. However, since toilet seats are purely cosmetic (they don't affect the functioning of the toilet), you can literally take a few measurements and find something that simply keeps you off the porcelain. http://www.plumbingsupply.com is a good one for toilet seats, btw.

Need to order a replacement toilet seat for Model Jacuzzi Era toilet. We have looked at Lowe's and other home improvement stores and all the available elongated replacement toilet seats do not seem to be...

Try checking plumbing supply houses instead of home improvement stores. Im not sure where you are located. Here in MO. I use Harry Cooper Supply or Riback Supply or Southern Materials. A good supply house should be able to help you find what you are looking for. Hope this helps.

Tiled bathroom floor. Went to install toilet

hi, the tile is supposed to go under the toilet flange (the thing you put the wax ring on), very common "oops", can be rectified by placing another wax ring right on top of the first on. best to make the first one a "horn type" wax ring, then put the plain one (no horn) on top of first and try to smoosh it on just enough to stay in place so when you install toilet it doesn't move,.....cheers!

Toilet seat

Here's what I did. Unscrew them as much as possible. Then I used a bolt cutter and hacksaw to cut away as much of the plastic seat holders as possible. I could then remove most of the seat, and get better access to the screws. I then raised the loose screws enough to cut them with a bolt cutter. Soft screws cut easily. The screw heads are now out. Now, tap down on the screw/anchor and it falls into the bowl. It will stay there. The remaining problem is that you need anchors to secure the new toilet seat. Kohler wants $50. I have a usable but loose seat. Never again-Kohler.
I strongly recommend using a boltcutter. A hacksaw will tear up the bowl.
