My HPPavalion Lap Top-Windows Vista Home-the screen is not showin

by default that is how the icon displays

The product key as you probably know, is printed on the Windows Label underside of your notebook.
Unfortunately, if someone has taken the number and registered a fresh machine with it, it has been stolen and will not let you use it again.
It may be worth contacting Microsoft and send them a photo of the label as proof. Otherwise you are stuck with having to purchase a fresh system from Microsoft.

Unfortunately, you have to have/purchase a product key for each copy of the Windows OS, in this case Vista. The XP key will not work. And the key has to be for that particular version ie: Windows Vista (TM) Home Premium.

The Windows product code is on the Window label on the bottom of the laptop.
This is the Windows product installation code.
After Windows is installed then you activate the Windows license via the Internet or by the phone.

you can download vista from a bittorrent site and use the product key from the bottom of the laptop

I think the problem is windows vista itself. This MSI product does not have drivers for vista...
You can try forcing the xp drivers, but it oriblably won't work.

update u soud drivers with the last driver and Down load and try Divx.

I AM CURENTLY AWITING ANOTHER REBOOT DISK AS THE MANUFACTUERS OF THE LAP TOP SAID IT MIGHT NEAD THE FULL INSTAL OF VISTA HOME BASIC AND NOT JUST THE REBBOT PROGRAM VERSION I GOT WITH THE PC. AS THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE START UP SETINGS THAT CONFIGS THE BIOS TO USE VISTA. ( I DIDNT UNDERSTAND THIS TILL I ACTURLY GOT INTO THE BIOS) THE NEW DISK WILL ASLO INCLUDE A NEW PRODUCT KEY THAT DOES NOT NEAD TO BE CONFIRMD VIA INTERNET TO USE AS IT IS JUST THE BASIC VISTA PROGRAM THAT SHOLD ALOW ME TO INSTAL MY UTILITIS AND DRIVERS TO INSTAL THE MODEMS AND OTHER SYSTEM FILES. WHEN I ORIGANLY GOT THE LAP TOP IN 2007 THE REBOOT &RECOVERY DISKS ONLY HAD THE SET UP PROGRAMS THIS ALOWS YOU TO INSTAL VISTA OPERATING SYSTEM BUT NOT ALL THE PROGRAMS WILL WORK AS YOU NEAD TO DOWNLOAD THE FULL SYSTEM SETINGS. SO JUST TO LET OTHERS KNOW IF YOU GOT A LAP TOP OR PC THAT ONLY HAD A REBOOT DISK TO CHEK THAT IT IS THE FULL VERSION ( NEW VISTA RECOVERY 2008 ) AND NOT THE 2007 ONE

Download the latest drivers from the manufacturer websites rather then relaying on the old cdroms - they are probarbly outdated and made for XP.
