If your laptop is under warranty, you can call dell, provide them with some information, and they can give you the master password for your laptop (provided you are the current owner, and obtained it legally). There is no universal master password for every computer, but there is a individual one for each individual computer. If your computer is not under warranty, however, they will charge you. I have heard it can be anywhere from $75 to $150 USD. You can also try to bypass it by updating/upgrading your bios (using a bios flash utility).
Dell latitude d600, am installing a replacement HDD, when I boot up laptop a screen comes up asking for password authentication system You cannot access the data on this computer without the correct password Please type in primary or administrator password and enter ????? How do I fix this ???? Tony
Hi,
The BIOS password cannot be unlocked unless you call Dell Technical Support. You would have to verify your owneship of the system and they would give you the reset code for the same.
If you have forgotten your BIOS or Hard Drive Password for this model, there is a master code that you can obtain from Dell Support. Simply call, Email, or use Online Chat from http://support.dell.com and give them your Service Tag, and they can help you out from there. If it is a Windows profile password you have forgotton, try accessing the Administrator account from Safe Mode (Press F8 at startup), and remove the password for the user account from Control Panel, User Accounts.
Bios password is a tricky thing. Some dell laptops have default password to reset the BIOS you may have to call there tech support to get the password. Thats M afraid is the only way out
Hi,
The only way for that is to contact dell support. you're gonna need help from a level 2 tech from austin as they're the only one who has the master password for that.
