I had already installed the sound driver of my laptop lenovo 3000 N100 with vista OS but it seems to be not working when i played music in windows media player and at youtube. it says "player cant play the file coz u have no sound device installed and or using by another programs

Check your audio section in bios, if it is enabled then boot the computer and go to control panel and there you have to select "sound and audio devices", now click sound button on the screen and play the windows sound given on the screen your play button will be activated after you select the windows sounds,

If it works then ok else you have to uninstall your sound driver and reinstall the perfect driver for the laptop model

Base System Device drivers are usually installed by what the manufacturer calls "Chipset" drivers. If you are running Windows XP, there is an Intel Chipset driver available at the Lenovo Support Page for your model. If you are running an Operating System other than Windows XP, I would go to the above page and compare the drivers listed there with what you are seeing in Device Manager. Install the ones that are missing. Hope this helps!
