Cooked motherboard, blown fuse, blown power pack.......

Thanks, already opened it up. The problem is I was using the laptop and the power went out and came on and then went out and came on again and the laptop went out and It didnt come on the next time I restarted it from the power button..Where I wanted to switch on the power and there is no power going through it or no sign of the LED lights coming on,but tested the power pack on another laptop and it was working fine..am trying to troubleshoot, my suspect is that if it had a fuse then the fuse might have been blown..does this things have fuse inside them? WHAT DO YOU THINK THE PROBLEM IS....

It's time to take the laptop to a qualified technician; if there is a fuse, then it is _not_ an "end-user" task to disassemble the laptop, to change the fuse. If it is _not_ a fuse, then the technician needs to do more trouble-shooting than what you, as a "user", currently know how to do.

Oven cooked a meal then no power

Check your junction box circuit breaker for issues. This should be on a 220 outlet. Find out if your model has an internal safety switch. If you trouble shoot all areas, then time to call a repair person.

Coleman Hot tub

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but more than likely the spa pack is fried. I can't say this with 100% certainty without being on site, but if there was an electrical problem and the spa has no power more than likely you're up the creek.
To be sure I'm correct in this assumption, we need to check a couple things. Make sure that you have 220 going to the pack. Use a meter to make sure you have 110 going to both of the hot terminals. There should be a wiring diagram on the back side of the spa pack cover.
If you have the proper power to the pack check the fuses next. Typically there are 2 or 3 fuses on a spa pack. There will be a smaller glass fuse that if blown can create the illusion that the spa is dead. If all the fuses are in tact you're unfortunately done. Colman spas have been out of production for quite a while. If the pack is blown there will not be a readily available OEM replacement pack. I guess it's possible to install a newer pack and get it back up and running but it would be a major undertaking that would cost more than the spa is worth. More than likely your boss was aware of this, and that is why he gave you the spa for free. Sorry man!

HP D7-1245DX Motherboard part number 506124-001 Power supply went bad, was running fine off of battery until battery went dead. Replaced power supply with good HP 463958-001 power supply, but it will...

I would first double-check the "known good" power supply. If there is something bad wrong with the MB, it could have blown the fuse in the power supply. I have seen very few fuses on motherboards, they are normally in the power supply. If the power supply checks out OK, then double check the connectors between the power supply and the MB.

My Acer Aspire One model D250 cannot power on even if i already put the power adapter. Is it the battery pack problem or the motherboard?

Firstly insert the battery. When you plug the PSU into the machine does a charging light turn on? If not then check the fuse in the mains plug as it may have blown. If the fuse is OK then you may have a defective PSU, although the motherboard could also be defective. Try a new PSU to determine if which component is faulty.
Now remove the battery and insert the PSU. Will the machine turn on or do any power lights illuminate? If power lights illuminate and the machine will not turn on then I would suggest the motherboard is at fault. If the machine turns on briefly the turns off before displaying the splash screen then I would suggest the RAM, CPU or motherboard is at fault.
If the unit works without the battery installed then it is probably a battery problem, although it is possible the charging circuit n the motherboard is fried.
Hope this helps,

HP Compaq laptop won't charge/power from AC due to blown fuse

First of all there are no fuses in a pc's motherboard, whatever the type.
In your picture the apparently faulty part is a filtration coil (L1 - the L refers to an impedance/coil) situated on the power like coming from the Jack1  - where the charger plugs in.
If your laptop :
1 - works just fine with a battery
2 - doesn't power on when plugged in the mains and without without the battery
3 - doesn't charges the battery
then , since the charger is good, the power circuit is cut after the the plug-in power jack, on the motherboard.
Use an ohmmeter to test the power circuit for continuity, starting from the jack.
So yes your busted impedance is most likely the failed part. Jumping it would fix it, but will leave the laptop without any protection against parasites coming thru the power line - use it from now on only plugged thru a surge protector at least an off line UPS at best.

Hello there...

As far as I know there is no power fuse on the motherboard.

But can you try this: Power on the laptop without the battery equipped, only use the AC power adaptor.

Hope this helps....:D

Cannot take unit out of standby mode. Brand new unit. . Was playing at relatively high volume and then it bounced to standby and now won't budge. Originally switched it by using "selector" button as I was...

It sounds like you've either cooked the output stage or blown a fuse or two. Some amps use relays to protect speakers whilst others use old fashioned fuses. Check the rear of the amp to see if there are fuse holders. If there are then unplug the unit and check each fuse. If they are marked as mains or power leave that alone it's for the 120volt input. the ones you want are usually marked left and right or just speaker. If the speaker fuses are cooked then make sure you use the same rating when replacing. Also check your speakers, they could be cooked too. Unlikely but possible. Some makers hide the fuses internally which can make things dangerous for anyone poking around. If in doubt leave it to a tech. If the fuses are blown replace them. check your speakers and plug in and swich on. If the fuses blow again go looking for a repair shop as you've possibly blown the output stage.

I was reading email and the computer screen went black. No lights on, nothing. No noise, nothing. Battery good. Power cord light is on. Is this a blown motherboard?

No first try 2 things
(1)Reattach the RAM memory.
(2)Reset bios settings to factory defaults.
For that you need to open back cover of laptop then reattach the ram memory also make sure your ram memory working fine.
then pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes then all settings defaults.
Then if same issue then you need repair your motherboard or lcd screen display.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Power circuit got blown off

Are we talking the transformer (the pack you plug the laptop into and then plug into AC wall socket)? Or we talking smoke was coming from the laptop?

The transformer can be replaced. Use your favorite search engine to search for the part number for that power supply. You can find many OEM replacements including directly from Dell.

If the laptop was smoking, that could spell trouble. Once the capacitors burn out, many other components on the motherboard and expansion cards can be fried.

Unless you are a serious DIY type, I'd ask a professional technician to open it up and examine the parts.

Compaq presario v5000

Your laptop runs on 18.5 volts DC at 3.5 amps.....Check the output on the printer power pack, if it is not the same, you have probably cooked your motherboard and that is what you will need to replace. Laptops do not under any circumstances like power that is not speced to thier configuration.
